Marina wasn’t sure if there was a problem with her sister’s treatment. She took a deep breath and sent a message over to Albert, asking about Elnora’s condition.
Albert quickly sent over Elnora’s medical reports.
After reading through all the reports, Marina felt a wave of relief. The treatment was clearly working, and the cancer cells had decreased significantly.
‘But if things are going so well, why does Elnora still seem so down?‘ Marina wondered.
After a moment’s thought, Marina sent another message.
Marina: [Have you been spending time with my sister lately?]
Marina waited, but Albert didn’t respond immediately.
She frowned, staring at the ‘typing… bubble in the chat window.
Finally, after a long pause, Albert replied.
Albert: [No.]
His reply was short, with just two words.
Marina felt a wave of unease wash over her.
Elnora had gone over to Port City for treatment.
Marina barely knew Port City, and if Albert wasn’t there, then who was looking after Elnora?
Marina: [Who’s taking care of Elnora right now?]
Marina fired off another message without a second thought.
This time, Albert replied almost instantly.
Albert: [Someone from the Campbell family.]
“Marina clenched her jaw, not even sure what to say. Frustrated, she slammed her phone down, her mind swirling with anger.
After a while, she grabbed her phone and gave Kara a call.
“Kara, can you check if there’s been any tabloid news or rumors about Albert lately?” Marina asked.
Kara was shocked by Marina’s question and blurted out, “Seriously? They just got married in secret, and now there’s already talk of a breakup?”
Marina replied, “It’s not that. I’m just curious.”
Kara picked up on the tension in Marina’s voice and quickly replied, “Alright, I’ll get right on it.”
“Get it to me as soon as you can,” Marina urged.

Kara replied, “Okay, give me two minutes.”

Kara was the information broker around. She worked in corporate acquisitions and had her own information channels.
When she said two minutes, she really meant two minutes.
Sure enough, Marina soon learned about the recent scandals involving Albert.
The most prominent was from very recently.
Media reports revealed that Albert once had a girlfriend he dated for six years. They were college classmates but broke up because of a significant difference in family status.
Word was, when his ex–girlfriend left, Albert even tried to catch her at the airport, but she got away and hopped on a flight straight to Frency.
Reliable sources said that heartbreak messed Albert up so badly that he never dated anyone for long after that.
Elnora had only just married Albert, and now this kind of gossip was making the rounds. Talk about a punch to the gut.
Marina felt like she’d been punched in the chest reading that news.
Even if Elnora didn’t have deep feelings for Albert yet, stuff like this could still get under her skin.
Marina couldn’t help but scroll through the comments under the article.
People online were already guessing if Elnora and Albert were just going to be another flash–in–the–pan couple.
After all, Albert only married Elnora because Mrs Campbell liked her. With Mrs Campbell’s matchmaking, the marriage came to be.
Such speculation was understandable.
Marina took a deep breath and called Kara.
‘I’m heading to Port City,” Marina announced, her voice firm.
Port City had direct flights to Yorelia. If she went today, she could fly to Yorelia tomorrow without affecting the task her sister assigned.
I’m coming with you,” Kara jumped in right away.
Marina was about to say no, but Kara quickly added, “And Finn’s tagging along too. No way we’re letting Elnora face all that alone in Port City.”
Marina hesitated for a few seconds, then agreed.
“Okay,” she replied, “You guys are coming with me.”
Kara replied, “I’ll book the tickets right now.”
Marina added, “Can you also book me a flight from Port City to Yorelia for tomorrow?”
Kara blinked, “Wait, why are you heading to Yorelia?”
Marina said, “Elnora needs me to take care of something for her.”

At the airport, Finn and Kara were waiting for her at the boarding gate.
Marina walked over by herself. Finn frowned a little and asked, “Where’s Daron?”
Marina kept her expression neutral and replied coolly, “He’s busy.”
Finn just stared at her, lost for words.
‘How busy can he really be? As Elnora’s brother–in–law, he can’t even make time to check on her in Port City?‘ Finn thought, feeling annoyed.
