Chapter 395
Zara quickly grabbed the bubble tea from her desk and brought it to Calista’s lips.
“Alright, Zara said. “Stop talking and drink your bubble tea. Keep your mouth busy.”
As she spoke, Zara gestured for Calista to look around.
55 vouchers.
No one in the office backed them up. Calista’s plan to get everyone to team up against Marina fell flat. She lost interest, so she dropped it.
If Zara hadn’t been her backer at the office, Calista wouldn’t have dared to confront Marina.
She’d heard that Marina was Ms. Marina of the Finley Group.
Sure, the Finley Group couldn’t hold a candle to the Zamora Group these days.
But Calista’s family was just middle–class, so there was no way she could measure up to the Finley Group.
But in Calista’s eyes, Zara was on a whole other level.
Zara was Daron’s sister.
‘Seriously, where did Marina even get the nerve to talk to Zara like that?‘ Calista wondered.
After Calista sat down, she rolled her eyes at Marina.
Marina gave her a cold smirk and replied, her voice just loud enough for everyone to hear.
“What an eye–opener,” Marina said.
Calista’s face darkened at Marina’s sharp insult. She shot up from her seat, but Zara quickly grabbed her arm.
CalistaZara shook her head at Calista, signaling her to calm down.
Just then, Daron’s office door opened.
Marina gave Calista a cold, indifferent look before getting up and heading toward Daron.
Zara pressed her lips together.
When Calista saw Daron, she didn’t dare look up. She kept her gaze fixed on the floor.
Marina walked over to Daron, pressed the elevator’s down button, and took her place next to him, discussing work matters.
Daron listened, giving Marina his full attention.
When the elevator arrived, Daron stepped in first, with Marina following close behind.
Once inside the elevator, Daron dropped his cold, serious facade and reached out, tugging Marina to his side.
Marina put her hand on his chest and immediately put some distance between them.
“Behave yourself, we’re at work,” she said.

The embarrassment from yesterday when Belinda walked in on them flashed through Marina’s mind, and she immediately glared at Daron.
Daron gently squeezed Marina’s hand in his palm, his voice calm and reassuring as he said, “This is my private elevator. No one’s going to see us.
Marina glanced up at the security camera in the elevator.
Daron followed her gaze and added, “The staff know better than to gossip.”
As he spoke, he pulled Marina into his arms.
“You didn’t even come to my office at lunch time today. I couldn’t even relax. Now that we finally have some time alone, can’t you just let me hold you for a bit?” he said, his voice low and irresistibly charming.
Marina was silent.
So it’s my fault now? Marina grumbled inwardly.
Marina didn’t let Daron hold her for long. She quickly pushed him away.
Their relationship wasn’t even public yet, and the warning signs were already showing that people were starting to target her.
If word ever got out about her and Daron, she couldn’t imagine how many people would be throwing shade at her behind her back.
She only had two more months left at the Zamora Group, and all she wanted was to make it through without
any drama.
Daron was caught off guard when she pushed him away. He stood there for a few seconds, watching her straighten her clothes with a serious look, and fell silent.
Meanwhile, in the Security Room.
The security guards watched the elevator feed, feeling a rush of nerves as they saw Daron get pushed away by Marina.
One of them thought, eyes wide, ‘Did we see that?
Mr. Zamora had made a move on Ms. Finley, but she turned him down.
And wait a sec… What kind of face is Mr. Zamora making right now?
Is he… sulking? Like some lovesick puppy?‘.
Marina had Daron completely under her thumb.
The security team quickly thought back, relieved that when Marina had stopped by earlier, they’d all been respectful and hadn’t snubbed her.
On the drive back to the Zamora Group after meeting a client, Marina spotted a bubble tea shop through the car window.
A crowd of girls was lined up outside, waiting to get in.

Daron noticed her gaze and asked softly, “Want some bubble tea?”
Marina nodded. “Yeah, I do. Honestly, I wish I could try every single flavor.”
The driver immediately pulled over and said respectfully, “Ms. Finley, I’ll go and get it for you right now.”
Marina waved her hand and said, “No, it’s fine. I was making a casual comment.
“Besides, I’m not into this brand anyway.”
That bubble tea shop was owned by the Gill family, and Winnie had been promoting it nonstop lately. Marina had seen all her posts about it on Instagram Story.
The driver paused, glancing at Daron for guidance.
Daron knew the bubble tea shop was part of the Gill family’s business.
Marina and Winnie had some history, so of course, Marina wouldn’t want to drink bubble tea from that place.
Before Daron could say anything, Marina spoke up first, “Let’s head back to the office. You’ve got a meeting coming up soon, Mr. Zamora. We don’t want to be late.”
Honestly, she didn’t even want the bubble tea that much.
Just seeing the bubble tea shop made her realize she could buy it herself if she wanted to, but it was Zara who had stirred up these feelings in her.
As soon as Marina finished her words, and Daron didn’t say a word, the driver could only pull away and head back to the Zamora Group.
He kept nervously checking the rearview mirror, itching to drop a hint to Daron about getting Marina her bubble tea.
But Daron was completely absorbed in his phone, missing every single one of the driver’s desperate glances.
The driver felt helpless.
‘Ms. Finley literally said she wanted bubble tea right in front of him. Why can’t Mr. Zamora pick up on something so obvious?‘ he thought, utterly defeated.
On the way back, Marina saw that Daron kept his eyes on his phone. Figuring he was busy with Zamora Group work, she didn’t bother him and sat quietly aside, watching the scenery fly by outside the window.
Meanwhile, Daron was scrolling through his phone, looking up the hottest bubble tea brands among girls these days.
He made sure to skip anything related to the Gill family and finally picked the most popular high–end bubble tea shop in Vrufield right now.
He snapped a screenshot of the shop’s name and sent it to Garret.
Garret saw the message and was baffled, so he texted back right away.
[Daron, are we buying this place or what?]
Daron: [Order one of every flavor of bubble tea from this shop and send them to the office. She wants to try them all.]
When Garret saw the word “her” at the end, he instantly knew what Daron was getting at.

He felt a bit moved. After all these years hanging around Daron, Daron was finally starting to get it
Garret: [Or, you could ask her which flavor she actually likes?]
Daron: [She said she wants a taste of every single flavor.]
Garret: [Copy that. I’ll make sure she gets her fresh bubble tea in ten minutes.]
Once Garret replied, Daron put his phone away.
When they got to the Zamora Group, they took the elevator upstairs together.
Daron headed straight for the conference room, while Marina went back to her workstation and got busy with her tasks.
She sat down, glanced at her phone, and let out a quiet sigh. Still nothing from the Finley Group.
Just as she was about to message Emeric, Garret showed up with the receptionist, both carrying an armful of bubble tea and setting them down right on Marina’s desk.
Marina blinked in surprise at the scene.
With a teasing grin, Garret said, “Ms. Finley, your boyfriend went all out and ordered this bubble tea for you.”
Marina was silent.
Garret didn’t even have to say who he meant by “boyfriend“. It was obvious.
Who would’ve thought that one offhand remark would make Daron go all out and order every single flavor for her?
Calista loved bubble tea. She was always drinking it.
She instantly spotted the logo on the bags. It was one of those trendy high–end bubble tea brands that had blown up in the last couple of years.
Even the cheapest cup of bubble tea from this place ran into the triple digits.
Calista took a deep breath, suddenly feeling pretty annoyed.
Now she finally understood what Marina meant by, “It’s just a cup of bubble tea.”
Calista thought bitterly, ‘Marina didn’t get to drink the bubble tea Zara offered earlier, so now she’s having her boyfriend send over all these fancy, overpriced bubble teas to put us to shame.‘
