When he saw that Marina remained silent, Leo continued in a calm, persuasive tone, trying to nudge her in the direction he wanted, “Marina, at the end of the day, we’re still family. If something really happens to Daron, we’ll make sure you’re taken care of. But if the subsidiary falls into someone else’s hands, it won’t be so easy for you to keep enjoying the life you have with the Zamoras”
Marina finally raised her head to look at Leo.
She said, “So, what you are saying is, as long as we’re on the same side, you’ll make sure we’re looked after, no matter what happens?”

The assistant quickly returned with the document folder and handed it to her.
Marina accepted it and looked through the contents carefully.
To her surprise, Victor actually had an official letter of appointment from the Zamora Group’s headquarters.
She scrutinized the signature at the bottom. It was signed and stamped by Martin Zamora himself.
No sooner had Marina checked the last page than Victor’s assistant swiftly removed the document from her hands. “Got nothing to say now, huh?” Victor mocked.
Marina paused for a moment before speaking in a calm, steady voice, ‘I still object.
“At the same time, I formally request the replacement of the current representative for the Frency subsidiary
Victor’s face became contorted with rage. He had barely warmed the seat of his new position, but Marina was already calling for him to be replaced.
He roared, “You really think you’re a part of the Zamora family now? You and Daron just got married. I advise you to face reality and not to go against us.”
Marina stared Victor down fearlessly. “I’m just making a reasonable suggestion. Given your temperament, I don’t think you’re cut out for this role. The headquarters has plenty of people who are way more qualified.”
Marina had only been in Frency for three days, but it was clear something serious must have happened back home. Otherwise, Martin Zamora wouldn’t have suddenly issued Victor that appointment letter.
