Zara noticed Hayley was practically glowing with excitement. She lowered her voice and said, “Mom, you really need to be careful. Seriously.”
If anyone finds out, our good days are over, Zara thought, anxiety flickering in her eyes.
Hayley gently ruffled Zara’s hair. “Relax. I know exactly what I’m doing.”
Zara nodded.
Ever since Marina became part of the Zamora family, nothing seemed to go right for them anymore.
So until that key was out of their hands, Zara couldn’t shake off her anxiety.
Zara’s resignation was approved almost immediately.
After all, she had just joined Zamora Group, which was largely due to Daron’s influence. Now that Daron had been removed from his high position, no one would stop Zara if she decided to resign.
After leaving the Zamora Group branch, Zara immediately sent her resume to Daron’s own firm.
This time, she didn’t pull any strings with Daron, nor did she give Garret a heads–up.
Her overseas credentials were top–notch, so she got hired in no time.
Matthew had been keeping a constant watch on Daron, tracking his every move.
But ever since Daron got back to Vrufield, he’d barely shown his face outside the villa these past couple of days. He looked like he was just holed up, recovering from something.
As for Marina, apart from occasional visits to the Finley Group, she didn’t go anywhere else.
Their eerily quiet routine only made Matthew even more restless.
On the day Daron had his cast removed, Marina accompanied him to the hospital.
After they left the hospital, Daron showed Marina around his new company.
Daron’s new company office was totally different in style from his old one atthe Zamora Group.
Compared to the cold, almost sterile vibe of his previous office, this place actually felt cozy and welcoming.
Marina stood before the wall of figurines in Daron’s office, her gaze fixed on the display behind the glass.
When she spotted the figurine of the character skin she’d designed herself, the same one she’d seen at Daron’s place in Sicester, she couldn’t hide her shock and joy.
“Did you move all your figurines from Sicester here?” Marina asked.
Hearing the excitement in Marina’s voice, Daron grinned, stepped up behind her, and slipped his arms around her waist.
“I moved them all back after I returned to Vrufield. I’ve been meaning to bring you here to check them out, but things kept coming up,” he said.

Just as Marina was about to speak, Daron gently lifted her hand.
She felt something cool slip onto her ring finger.
Marina looked down and saw Daron sliding a ring onto her finger.
A flicker of surprise crossed her eyes.
The next moment, Daron gently unfolded her fingers and set the men’s ring in her palm.
Marina stared at the pair of rings in her hand, lost in thought.

Seeing her silent and on the verge of tears, Daron spoke softly, “Honey, I’ve already put the ring on your finger. Won’t you put mine on me?”
His voice was low, magnetic, and impossibly sexy, with a seductive edge that made her heart skip a beat.
Marina picked up the men’s ring from her palm, and as she felt its coolness, her fingertips trembled slightly.
Daron naturally held out his hand, and Marina slipped the ring onto his finger.
Throughout it all, Daron maintained the posture of embracing her from behind.
After Marina slipped the ring onto Daron’s finger, she turned around and threw her arms around him.
“Thank you,” Marina whispered.
She had thought that all there would ever be between her and Daron was just that piece of paper symbolizing their legal
union.
Yet Daron had personally designed their wedding rings.
Daron caught the slight tremble in Marina’s voice and said softly, “I should be the one thanking you.
Thank you for choosing to marry me.
I should have prepared these things much earlier. It’s my negligence to give them to you only now.”
Marina bit her lip, then lifted her head to look at Daron and said, “No, you haven’t been negligent at all. You’ve done a great ob.
Daron said with a gentle tease, “I’ve neglected my duties. If I really hadn’t, why wouldn’t you call me ‘honey‘ by now?”
Marina just stayed silent.
Seeing her quiet, Daron tightened his embrace.
‘It’s alright if you’re not ready to call me Honey. I’ll wait for you, no matter how long it takes,” he whispered.
Marina looked up and saw that Daron seemed quite patient.
Even though he looked so composed, Marina could hear a trace of hurt in his voice.
She gently bit the corner of her lip, rose on her tiptoes, and pressed her rosy lips on his.
Marina gave Daron just a soft peck on the lips, then she whispered, “Honey.”

Chapter 443
Daron felt his pulse quicken the moment he heard her call him “honey.”
He lowered his head, just about to kiss Marina, when suddenly the office door burst open.

Zara stood at the doorway, clutching a stack of papers, her whole demeanor practically buzzing with excitement.
“Daron…” Zara called out, but the moment she opened her mouth, she saw Marina and Daron hugging.
And Daron had just bent down, as if he were about to kiss Marina.
Zara’s face went pale.
Daron instantly pressed Marina’s head to his chest, shielding her soft, bashful look from view, even though it was Zara, another woman.
“Get out!” Daron snapped, then shot Zara a sideways glare, his brows furrowed in irritation, his eyes icy and full of warning.
Zara’s expression shifted slightly, and she quickly backed out of Daron’s office.
She hadn’t bothered knocking because she wanted to surprise Daron.
She’d been at the company for three days now, but she hadn’t seen Daron once.
She kept imagining the look of surprise on Daron’s face when he finally saw her at the office.
But instead of a surprise, she got booted out of his office by Daron himself.
Just seeing how intimate Marina and Daron had been made Zara clench the papers in her hands.
She stepped out of Daron’s office and stood silently at the doorway, her eyes locked on the closed door, her gaze dark and burning with envy.
After quite a while, the door to Daron’s office was finally opened from the inside.
Marina walked up to the doorway, gave Zara a brief look, and then left the office without saying a word.
Zara let out a quiet sigh. Only after Marina had left did she finally step into Daron’s office, forcing a guilty smile onto her
face.
“Daron, I’m sorry. I didn’t know Ms. Finley was here with you,” she said softly.
As she spoke, Zara kept sneaking glances at Daron, trying to read his mood, but he never even looked up. His eyes were fixed on the documents in front of him, not sparing her a single glance.
Zara felt a stab of disappointment deep down.
She had originally thought Daron would at least ask why she was here. But Daron didn’t even bother. He just ignored her completely.
“I just wanted to give you a surprise, so I came in without knocking. I’m really sorry, Daron. I know I shouldn’t have done that. Please don’t be mad at me, okay?” Zara lowered her head and apologized.
Only then did Daron raise his head and look at her.
As soon as Zara saw Daron glance her way, her face instantly lit up with a sweet, cheerful smile.

“Daron-” She was about to speak, but Daron’s gaze merely fell on the documents in her hands as he said in a deep voice, The documents.”
Zara’s smile froze for a split second, and she could only force herself to hand over the papers, feeling a little embarrassed.
