Competition was intense, and need brands were riding the wave of attention to throw shade at Winnie. Winnie was at her wire end. Her dad was yelling at her and demanded the fire Yara on the sou
To Winnie, Yara was just a trud, omething to be used and discarded. Since Yora was useless to her, Winnie didn’t hesitate to cut her loner. Hence, Vara grat fired, and the Gill family also released an official statement
They announced Vara’s termination and invited everyone to report any staff acting out of line. They promised that once any misconduct was confirmed, they’d never shield anyone who broke the rules.
The Gill family’s announcement sparked even more buzz online. With nowhere else to turn, Yara had no choice but to reach
But ever since Joyce realized Daron would never forgive Victor and Leo for what they did, she went to the hospital the very next day to schedule an abortion.
Joyce was at home, taking time to recover after the procedure. She watched as Yara fanned the flames, saw Marina get dragged through the mud, and then witnessed the tables turn in a wild twist
Joyce had already blocked and deleted Yara from her contacts. She was barely holding it together at the Milner family and had no intention of getting dragged into any more drama.
Vara was left completely alone, with no one to turn to, and Carrie was still out to get her. The negative news about her online just kept spreading like wildfire. Some nosy people had even managed to track down where she lived.
Feeling completely cornered, Yara ended up calling Marina, practically begging her for forgiveness. But to her surprise, Marina had already blocked her. There was no way through.
With all the harassment coming her way, Yara didn’t even dare step outside. She just holed up in her tiny rental, hiding from the world. Unable to get through to Marina and drowning in online hate, Yara just gave up and let herself spiral. She stopped caring about anything anymore.
Yara just posted online, coming clean about her relationship with Lavern. But as she admitted to what happened between her and Lavern, she also tried to smear Marina, dragging her into the mess.
[Marina always knew I liked Lavern. She was fully aware of my feelings. We used to be close friends, and she always knew what was going on with me. It’s not all my fault that things ended up like this.] Yara was trying to drag Marina down with her, hoping they’d both get dragged through the mud together.
But just when Yara thought her dad would cover for her, things took a turn. Because Yara had stopped sending money for her half–brother, her dad’s mistress sent him a letter, saying she was leaving him and taking the kid to start a new life.
Jasper panicked, Right before the trial, he completely changed his story and even agreed to talk to reporters. Yara’s plan to drag Marina down with her backfired. Even worse, her own dad stabbed her in the back.
As soon as Jasper’s interview hit the news, Yara became the next target for investigation. Jasper’s interview set off a whole debate online about what people are really capable of.
Trying to get his sentence reduced, Jasper repeated every single thing Yara had ever said, not leaving out a word. As it turned

The Slavs and the Ross family used to live practically next door in their old neighborhood. From the beginning, they were well aware of Marina’s family situation. Her mom was seriously ill, and her grandma was frail.
Although Marina’s mom was sick, their family didn’t seem to be struggling. If anything, they were doing better than the Slav family. Word was, Marina’s mom had cancer, and for most families, just the medical bills alone would be enough to break
them.
But Marina and her grandma never seemed to worry about money. Plus, Marina’s grandma even owned a little villa in the southern district of Sicester, along with her own plot of land. Land in the city was worth a fortune.
Lavern went after Marina because he saw her family situation as a golden opportunity. She only had an aging grandmother and a mother who was seriously ill.
With no real family baggage, once her grandma and mom passed away, Marina would be the only one left. From the start, Lavern’s whole plan was to get with Marina and flip his fate. He wanted to rewrite his destiny. Yara saw right through Lavern’s intentions, and it tore her up for a while.
During the interview, Jasper mentioned that he only got into the factory business because Lavern invested in him after Marina and Lavern’s company thrived.
Lavern always played the son–in–law role in the Slav family, acting like he already belonged. But Jasper had no idea Lavern was seeing someone else at the time.
When he found out, he tried to convince Yara to break up with Lavern. But after Yara spilled everything about their scheme, Jasper finally gave his blessing for them to be together. After all, Lavern had brought the Slav family plenty of benefits. He really made life a whole lot better for their family.
After watching Jasper’s interview, Marina’s lips curled into a cold smirk. She used to think perhaps Lavern actually loved her, at least for a few years. But she realized he’d been after her for what he could gain, right from the start.
Daron, who had been working in the study, pushed open the bedroom door and walked in. Marina looked up at him, her expression blank as she set her phone down.
Daron walked over to her, bent down, and pulled her into a hug. “Stop paying attention to all that drama,” he said softly.
Marina froze for a second, then lifted her gaze from Daron’s embrace, meeting the eyes of the man right in front of her, and spoke softly, “Come on, be honest. How long have you been standing there?”
Daron reached out and tousled her hair affectionately. “For a long, long time.” He’d been there ever since Marina started watching Jasper’s interview.
“People are selfish. Everyone tends to say whatever serves their own interests,” Daron said gently.
“Jasper might not be telling the whole truth. He could just be trying to push all the blame onto Yara and Lavern, claiming they’d been scheming against you all along. Don’t let it weigh on you too much,” he added. Anyone would feel devastated after being lied to for an entire decade.
Marina kept her head tucked against Daron’s chest, not looking up as she spoke softly, “Honestly, I’m not really upset.”
She’d already witnessed Lavern at his lowest, so hearing people talk about him at that moment made her feel better. ‘Figures. That’s exactly who he is.
Marina reached up and hugged Daron tightly around the waist. Perhaps it was because Daron was right there with her that her heart felt completely at peace. None of this news stirred up even the slightest ripple inside her.
