Chapter 157
There was no way kara was going to let Joyce mess up Daron and Marina’s moment together
She immediately reached out and grabbed Joyce’s arm.
Hey Joyce, let Finn and me take you home. Daron’s probably not heading back to the Zamora family home tonight, Kara
ward.
Joyce tried to shake off Kara’s hand, but Kara just latched onto her, hooking her arm around Joyce’s.
Just then, Finn spoke up too.
Let us take you home,” he said.
Kara nodded. “It’s all the same regardless of who gives you a ride, right? Besides, Daron’s in a rush. He probably doesn’t have time for you. See? He didn’t even notice you were talking.”
Joyce was speechless.
Why did I never realize Kara was this much of a pain?‘ Joyce thought.
The driver saw Daron carrying Marina out of the building and rushed to open the back door for them.
Daron bent down, about to settle Marina into the seat, when she suddenly opened her eyes and sleepily nuzzled into his chest.
Her sweet, intimate gesture made Daron freeze for a moment. He felt a strange flutter in his chest, like a feather brushing past his heart, and his arms around her even trembled slightly.
Marina was having a dream that she and Daron were happily married, living in perfect harmony. In her dream, Daron was all about her. He doted on her and showered her with love and attention.
So when she opened her eyes and saw Daron right there, she was still half–lost in her dream and mumbled in a daze, “Hubby.”
Daron was stunned for a few seconds, and the restless feeling that had been swirling inside him just vanished.
‘Hubby?‘ Daron repeated in his mind, a cold smirk tugging at his lips.
He snorted coldly, setting her down in the seat with a cold look on his face.
Marina was jolted wide awake by the sudden movement.
Her eyes clouded with confusion, her head still swimming. But when she realized she was already in Daron’s car, she let herself relax and shut her eyes again.
Daron remained silent. He got back in the car, his face dark and brooding.
Meanwhile, Marina acted like nothing had happened and went right back to sleeping soundly. The seat wasn’t comfy enough, so she just sprawled out and shamelessly made his leg her pillow.
Daron’s face was stormy, but there was nothing he could do.
The driver caught a glimpse of Daron’s stormy face and couldn’t help but ask in a low voice, “Mr. Zamora, should we take Ms. Finley home first?”
Daron hummed in agreement.

The cat started up and pulled away from the estate.
Baron kept his eyes downcast the whole ride, his face dark and brooding as he stared at Marina sprawled out on his lap. Ir seemed clear who she was calling “libby” just now.
Daron felt a heavy weight pressing on his chest, so he forced himself to look away.
After a while. Marina opened her eyes with a pained expression.
Daron felt her squirm on his lap and looked down, just in fire to hear her let out a muffled groan.
His face changed instantly, but before he could react, Marina suddenly puked right onto his lap.
Both Daron and the driver were speechless.
The driver snuck a glance in the rearview mirror, saw the mess all over Daron’s pants, and quickly looked away, secretly hoping Marina would make it out alive.
“Pull over,” Daron ordered, his face stone cold.
The driver quickly pulled the car over to the side
of
road.
Is Mr. Zamora really about to kick Ms. Finley out of the car?‘ the driver wondered, his heart pounding.
“Mr. Zamora…” the driver started, his voice trembling.
He was just about to risk getting fired to try and calm Daron down, but before he could say another word, Daron flung open the door, scooped Marina up in his arms, and got out of the car.
- 2.
‘Is he really about to just leave Ms. Finley here?‘ the driver wondered, his heart racing.
The driver scrambled out after them, but before he could even say anything, he saw Daron heading straight for the hotel entrance with Marina in his arms.
Only then did he look up and realize that they were right outside a hotel owned by the Zamora family.
Daron had a private suite here that was strictly off–limits to anyone else.
The receptionist at the entrance spotted Daron carrying a woman inside and rushed over to say hello.
“Good evening, Mr. Zamora,” the receptionist greeted.
Daron just kept walking, face like thunder, totally ignoring the greeting.
The receptionist scrambled to hit the elevator button for him.
When the elevator reached Daron’s floor, the floor manager rushed over and opened the door for Daron and Marina.
After they stepped into the suite, the manager quietly closed the door behind them, making sure they had their privacy.
Daron laid Marina down on the bed, then pulled out his phone and called the hotel manager.
“Send up a female staff member who’s straight,” he said.
The manager was caught off guard, not quite getting what Daron meant.
“A straight female staff member?” the manager echoed, sounding puzzled.
Daron replied, “Yeah, a woman who likes men, not women.”

The manager could hear the impatience in Daron’s voice and didn’t dare hesitate, agreeing right away.
Right away, Mr. Zamora. Il bring someone up myself,” the manager sail.
“Mm.” Dare replied.
Daron hung up, cast a quick, indifferent glance at Marina sprawled on the bed, and strode into the bathroom, his face still
Soon enough, the hotel manager rushed up to Daron’s floor, a female staff member hurrying along behind him.
The staff member following the manager could barely contain her excitement, her eyes practically sparkling with eagerness.
When they got to Daron’s door, the manager gave the staff girl a meaningful look and whispered to her.
“If you hit the jackpot after tonight, just remember who gave you your big break,” he said.
Any guy would know exactly what it meant when Mr. Zamora called for a straight woman to his room in the middle of the night.
The staff girl nodded, her voice low and full of excitement. “Don’t worry, Manager. I’ll never forget what you’ve done for me. If I really get to be Mr. Zamora’s woman, I’ll owe you for life.”
The manager gave a satisfied nod, started to knock, but noticed the door was already slightly ajar, so he gave it a gentle push and stepped inside.
“Mr. Zamora, I brought the girl you wanted,” the manager called out.
There was no answer from inside.

looked a bit puzzled, then gave the staff girl a little push. “Hurry up and get in. Remember what you promised
The staff girl blushed, nodded, and walked into the suite.
She paused at the bedroom doorway, straightened her skirt, adjusted her outfit, and then undid a couple buttons on her blouse before stepping inside.
Seeing the girl’s demeanor, the manager simply closed the door behind her.
When the staff girl walked into the bedroom, she did a double–take. There was already a woman sprawled out on the bed.
She blinked, totally confused.
‘Why did Mr. Zamora call me up if there’s already a woman here?‘ she wondered.
‘Wait, does that mean…‘ she thought, her mind spinning.
‘How typical. The rich guys are always into some crazy stuff,’ she mused.
Daron had never had any gossip or scandals attached to his name all these years, which was pretty unusual for a guy like him.
Guess that just means he’s been hiding it really well.
The staff girl wasn’t sure how to feel about all this at first, but when she heard the shower running in the bathroom and thought about Daron’s looks and his fortune, her heart started racing.
A few minutes later, Daron walked out of the bathroom wearing a bathrobe, towel in hand, drying his hair as he stepped into

the room.
When he save the stall girl standing by the bed, shooting him a basliful glance, Daron’s gaze turned cold, and he barked, “Wipe her down and change her out of her clothes.”
The staff girl was caught off guard. This was nothing like she had imagined.
She glanced over at Marina awkwardly, and only then did she notice a pair of women’s pajamas laid out on the bed.
So Mr. Zamora had the manager bring me up here just to look after the woman lying there?‘ she realized, still in disbelief.
It was a heartbreaking realization.
