Chapter 160
Since Paris had taken her along to check out this project. Marina guessed he was probably thinking about involving de Poles family in its future develigament.
Marina followed Daron back to the suite, asking him about the project details.
Paron didn’t say a word, just headed straight for the bedroom.
Marina, still focused on the project, followed him in without thinking.
It wasn’t until Daron stopped in front of the closet, turned to her, and spoke in a low voice.
Are you here to help me change?” he asked.
Marina finally snapped out of it, her cheeks burning as she hurried out of Daron’s room, shutting the door behind her as she left.
She waited quietly by the door, doing her best to steady her nerves.
After all, this was just her own speculation.
If Daron wasn’t planning to let the Finley Group in on the action, then she’d just gotten all worked up for nothing.
When Daron came out after changing, he saw Marina standing right outside his room, looking thoughtful.
When she saw him, Marina looked up and saw Daron dressed in black sportswear. Her eyes softened for a moment, and for no reason, her heart twinged.
He looked years younger in that getup, like he’d stepped right out of the past, back to who he was a decade ago.
Marina caught herself, quickly masking how impressed she was. Pushing thoughts of the project to the front of her mind, she
put on her business face.
“Mr. Zamora, are we heading out now?” she asked.
Daron nodded. “Yeah.”
Daron caught a brief sparkle in her bright eyes. But before he could fully register it, her expression shifted. There was also a hint of urgency in her gaze, though she did her best to keep her eagerness in check.
“It’s just a small project, not much profit in it,” Daron said, trying to manage her expectations.
He figured it was better to warn her now, just so she wouldn’t get her hopes up and end up disappointed when they got there.
Marina replied softly, “These days, as long as a project can turn a profit, it’s a good one. But if the profits look huge and the investment is tiny, that’s when you gotta watch your step. If you’re not careful, there’s probably a trap up ahead just waiting for you to fall in.”
Daron raised an eyebrow. “I never knew you had any insight into investing.”
Marina just smiled humbly.
“I wouldn’t call it insight,” she replied. “I’m just flying blind here, so I have to be extra careful.”
Daron replied coolly, “If you know you’re flying blind, then you should really understand how important it is to have a solid cane to lean on.”

But then she formdered he was actually taking her to check out the project. He was being pretty decent about swallowed het pride and let it slide.
has the way to their destination. Marina kept dropping hints and probing Daron for more details about the project.
But as soon as Daron got in the car, he closed his eyes to rest, making it clear he wasn’t going to share a thing
Seeing that Daron wasn’t giving anything away. Marina’s excitement started to build.
Watt, could this project be difficult to come by? Marina wondered to herself.
Her curiosity was getting the better of her.
Marina stared out the window, her mind racing.
She knew that she had to get on Daron’s good side if she wanted to get mouth shut about anything he didn’t like.

this project. For now, she’d better keep her
Even if he threw shade or made snide remarks, she’d just have to grit her teeth and take it. If she endured a little now, maybe she’d get her shot at the big time. She was willing to put up with it.
When they arrived, the driver pulled the car over to the side.
Curious, Marina looked out the window and was stunned for a second.
Wait, isn’t this the busiest entertainment complex in all of Vrufield? Is Daron planning to invest in the game business?‘ she thought.
Marina got out of the car, still confused, and followed Daron into a not–yet–opened commercial building.
Before going in, she looked up at the sign above the entrance.
[Xcape], the sign read.
‘So this is where people come to play games, Marina thought to herself.
These survival games were super hot right now. Everyone was talking about them, and you could find franchises in pretty much every city across the country. The younger crowd was especially obsessed.
No wonder Daron said it wouldn’t make much money.
For the Zamora Group, this kind of project was basically pocket change. Marina had thought Daron was just downplaying it before, but turns out he really meant it.
But for the Finley Group, anything that brings in cash is worth considering. Once they’ve left real estate behind, putting money into smaller projects like this would actually make a lot of sense for them.
The place wasn’t open yet, but there were already a few people waiting in the lobby.
Marina stuck close to Daron, quietly eavesdropping on the conversations around her.
Turns out, they were all influencers invited by the venue to test out the game. No wonder they all stood out so much.
They all looked pretty young, probably around nineteen or twenty, and seemed to be bursting with youthful energy.
There were a ton of influencers here today, and the staff was busy getting everyone signed in. Since the place wasn’t officially open yet, they were definitely understaffed.

Chapter 100
As soon as Daron and Marina walked in a stall member with glaises came over and asked for their social media handles. He hasbassed tue were influencers here to test out the gane
Daros kept a straight Thee, not bothering in answer. He just said, his voice icy “Get me your manager.
Maria bit her lip, her thoughts drifting as the staff member’s question threw her off
She glanced at Daron and couldn’t help but wonder, ‘If Daron ever became an influencer, what kind of content would he create? Would he be a pretty boy streamer? Maybe he’d be one of those online heartthrobs, always Dexing his abs for all the Tadies to drool over?
Her eyes drifted to Daron’s abs, and she thought, ‘With a body like that, he’d probably hit a million followers in no time!
Noticing her eyes wandering over him, Daron reached out and flicked her forehead.
He wasn’t exactly gentle about it, and Marina immediately clutched her head.
“Mr. Zamora, what was that for?” she protested.
Daron called her out, “You know exactly what you were fantasizing about.”
Marina stayed silent.
Seriously, does he have X–ray vision or something? How does he always read my mind so easily?‘ she thought.
Just then, the manager arrived. The moment he recognized Daron, a flicker of surprise crossed his face, and he quickly
came over to greet him warmly.
He
got the game started right away.
The influencers who’d been waiting lit up, their excitement practically contagious.
Marina gave Daron’s sleeve a gentle tug and asked, “Are we going to try it out too?”
Daron nodded. “Yeah.”
Marina’s eyes lit up with interest. As she followed the others inside, Daron was still talking with the manager at the entrance.
As she glanced back at Daron, someone bumped into her arm.
She turned and saw a guy, probably about twenty, flashing her a bright smile.
“Hey, are you Mr. Zamora’s girlfriend?” he asked, his tone playful.
Marina shot it down right away, not even pausing to think.
“No, I just work for him,” she replied.
The guy said “Oh” with a bright grin, his smile revealing two charming canines.
Marina smiled back politely and took a small step away from him.
The guy kept just the right amount of distance, looking a little nervous as he spoke, “Um, I’m kind of new to this influencer thing, and I don’t really know anyone here to team up with. Would it be okay if I joined your group? I’ve read up on all the game guides for this place. I promise I can help us beat it!”
Marina didn’t even think twice. She shook her head and waved him off. “Sorry, try asking someone else.”
She figured Daron wouldn’t be thrilled about having a stranger join their team out of nowhere, and besides. if the ruv
