Chapter 224 A Public Defense
Andy roared through gritted teeth, “Tracy, are you calling me stupid? Who the hell do you think you are, insulting me like this? You’re no better. You failed to seduce one man, and now you’re trying to seduce Felix. A woman with no morals like you… you’re disgusting. You’re lucky you’re even allowed here, and you still dare to act so arrogant. You’re despicable.”
He was already furious after being lectured by his father. Now, to be berated by this orphan, Tracy? Why should he take that? It was one thing for his father to scold him, but who did Tracy think she was to lecture
him?
Just then, Felix finally spoke. “And who the hell do you think you are? That backward-thinking is laughable. Are you trying to imply that Ms. Xander is playing us all for fools and we’re too stupid to notice? Instead of standing here defending someone else, you should be thinking about how you’re going to clean up this mess. You just insulted both me and Ms. Xander.”
He hadn’t spoken up at first, feeling it was Tracy’s personal battle. But since Andy had dragged his name into it, he couldn’t just stand by, especially when a woman’s reputation was at stake. He had always despised people who used their power to bully others. Andy was exactly that kind of person. Since he’d been dragged into it, he wasn’t going to let this slide.
Seeing Felix step in, the surrounding crowd began to whisper.
“What’s with that Shanks kid? Does he have some grudge against Ms. Xander? Why is he insulting her the moment he walks up?”
“I know, right? And he just had to drag Mr. Felix into it. He’s really stepped on a tiger’s tail this time. He’s in
for it.”
“To think he’d dare to offend Mr. Felix just to humiliate Ms. Xander. If his father finds out, he’s definitely going to get a beating.”
‘I heard Shanks Corp is trying to partner with Vector. With an attitude like that? Fat chance. How did Mr. Shanks end up with a son who only holds him back?”
Hearing the murmurs, Andy began to panic. He had only wanted to teach Tracy a lesson. She was always bullying Yvonne and had even deliberately let that video go viral, humiliating Yvonne and causing her so much pain. Thinking of Yvonne’s pitiful, tear-stained face, his prejudice against Tracy intensified.
But he had never intended to offend Felix.
Realizing his mistake, Andy quickly apologized. “I’m sorry, Mr. Felix. I apologize for my behavior. But I was just looking out for you! I personally saw her throw herself at Mr. Gaunt. I was worried you’d be deceived by her too.”
He had no choice but to bow his head. His family couldn’t afford to offend the Quinn family. He had offended Felix because of Tracy; he could only accept his bad luck.
Felix pointed at Tracy, then sneered at Andy. “You should be apologizing to Ms. Xander, not me. And since you’re so convinced of her poor character, we have nothing more to say. Regarding your partnerships with Quinn Corp and Vector, tell your father to come and talk to us. We don’t negotiate with idiots. I’m afraid it might lower my IQ.”

Chapter 224 A Public Defense
He had no desire to deal with someone like Andy, who was so biased he couldn’t see anyone clearly. Given his status, Felix didn’t need to waste his time, so he chose to simply dismiss him.
Andy was furious, but he didn’t dare say another word. He was terrified that if he completely alienated Felix and sabotaged the partnership, his father would kill him. He had no choice but to stalk away in defeat.
Watching Andy’s retreating back, Felix looked at Tracy with admiration. “Ms. Xander, your composure is remarkable. After he said all that, you remained completely calm. Any other woman would have run off in tears. Your self-control is truly rare.”
He came from a large family with many female relatives. Though they were all well-educated, none of them were like Tracy. She was unfazed by trouble, clear-headed, and capable of calmly dismantling any provocation. In the end, her opponents were left seething, while she remained completely unbothered. It was impressive.
Tracy smiled lightly. “You’re too kind. I’ve just been through this sort of thing so many times that I’ve learned how to handle it. I’m sorry you had to see that. But thank you for stepping in just now. I’d like to treat you to dinner sometime to show my appreciation.”
She always repaid her debts. Felix had helped her out several times now. This was a friend worth keeping.
Felix smiled. “Dinner isn’t necessary. But, there is actually one thing I’d like to ask of you, Ms. Xander.”
