Chapter 618

“Huh?” Kachin looked lost.

Elnora raised an eyebrow, her gaze landing on Albert. She knew exactly what was up.

Albert kept his cool, meeting Elnora’s eyes without flinching.

Elnora didn’t call Albert out. Instead, she smiled at Kaelin.

“My mistake. Sorry,” she said.

Kaelin gave an awkward smile, saying, “I thought you were dropping hints about me, Ms. Finley.

“I’ve been single for years and haven’t had a female companion. If you know anyone suitable, Ms. Finley, feel free to set me

Elnora nodded with a smile and replied, “If I find someone right, you’ll be my top priority, Kaelin.”

Just then, Benedict leaned in and chimed in, “Don’t forget about me when you’re setting him up. If you all end up paired off and I’m still flying solo, that’d be awkward.”

Kaelin gave Benedict a playful kick and teased, “Aren’t you supposed to be a die-hard bachelor?” Benedict grinned. “Hey, even the most committed bachelors can change their minds once in a while.” Kaelin laughed and playfully cursed. The group kept joking around as they made their way to the stables.

Albert walked beside Elnora, a faint smile tugging at his lips. He leaned in close to her ear and whispered, “Thanks for sparing my dignity, Ms. Finley.”

Elnora looked up at Albert.

Next time you want a photo, just ask. I’ll cooperate,” she said.

He didn’t have to come up with any excuses, Elnora thought.

Albert raised an eyebrow, his smile growing a little wider. He simply replied, “Sure.”

Wren was walking ahead, but after a few steps, she noticed Elnora and Albert lagging.

She quickly waved at Elnora with a grin.

Ms. Finley, hurry up! You two lovebirds can save the mushy stuff for later. Come and check out Mr. Campbell’s horse,” said Wren.

Elnora gave a small nod and replied softly, “On my way.”

Elnora walked over to join Wren.

Wren flashed a friendly smile and looped her arm through Elnora’s.

She said, ‘Don’t you think Mr. Campbell’s horse is in great shape? We’ve taken good care of it here.

It’s your first time seeing Mr Campbell’s horse, isn’t it, Ms. Finley? The horse has been with us for quite a while now”

Elnora kept her distance, watching the magnificent horse tied up in the stable.

Its appearance and presence were definitely different from the other horses.

Even though Elnora didn’t know much about horses, she could tell this one stood out from the crowd. Bet it was way pricier than the rest.

Wren reached out and stroked the black horse, then turned to Elnora with a smile.

“Come on, Ms. Finley, give it a touch. This one’s smart. It’s almost like it understands people,” she said.

Elnora was about to decline, but Wren took her hand and guided it to the horse’s muzzle.

The horse snorted softly, and Elnora quickly pulled her hand back.

Wren finally noticed Elnora’s reaction and asked cautiously, “Ms. Finley, are you scared of horses?”

Elnora shook her head. “No, not really. I’m just not used to being around animals,” she replied.

She’d fallen off a horse once before.

That time, the horse suddenly lost control, tossed her to the ground, and stepped right over her.

The pain from that day still sticks with Elnora.

‘I thought I’d managed to keep my fear under control, but I never expected Wren to notice anyway, Elnora thought.

Wren smiled at Elnora and said, “Oh, got it.

“I guess I’m different from you, Ms. Finley. I actually love being around animals.

“Animals are so much purer than people. They don’t play games. If they like you, you’ll know. If they don’t, you’ll know, too.

“What do you think, Ms. Finley?”

Elnora nodded calmly, showing she agreed with Wren’s point of view.

Wren kept her arm linked with Elnora’s and said with a smile, “If you’re not feeling Mr. Campbell’s black horse. I’ve got a much gentler one over here. Want to check it out?”

Elnora didn’t respond. She glanced over at Albert, who was standing off to the side.

Albert was chatting with Kaelin, his hand gently stroking the black horse’s face, completely oblivious to Elnora’s gaze

Wren stepped in front of Elnora, blocking her view.

‘Come on, Ms. Finley,” she said.

Elnora nodded.

“Sorry to trouble you, Miss Herman,” Elnora said.

Wren beamed, her manner easy and familiar

“Oh, please, no need to be so polite with me, she replied.

over.

It stretched its head toward Elnora’s face and blew a warm breath at her.

Elnora instantly tensed up.

The next second, the white horse sniffed at her face, then gently brushed its nose against her cheek.

It seemed that the horse took a liking to her.

Elnora felt her guard drop a little.
