However, when Victor entered the predator zones, his confusion turned into anger.
“Where are all the creatures?”
To his surprise, the predator zones were just as empty. There wasn’t a single mechanical creature in sight.
Victor wanted to harvest more Source Crystals for his mecha’s second evolution, but this unexpected situation thwarted that plan.
Where had all the creatures gone?
How could he evolve now?
The mechanical creatures were actually perfectly fine. They had simply fled the zoo.
When Victor slaughtered the monkey pack, some of the mechanical creatures became aware of his presence.
After Victor wiped out the crocodile pack, a portion of the creatures had chosen to run away.
Even those that had not transformed into mutants had the instincts to avoid danger.
Furthermore, the mutants possessed intelligence comparable to humans. They not only understood how to survive in this treacherous world but also knew how to avoid potential threats.
At first, only about half the mechanical creatures ran away, but after Victor slaughtered the mutated mechanical deer that had learned a skill, all the creatures in the zoo fled en masse.
Why would they stay if they knew they couldn’t defeat the enemy?
If Victor hadn’t decided to open the Source Crystals after Terrence left, he might have caught up to some of the
creatures.
But now, it was too late.
They had all fled.
“You think you can run from me?” Victor knew that the zoo’s mechanical creatures were definitely still alive.
After all, there weren’t many mechanical corpses in the zoo.
In his previous life, countless human lives were lost trying to eliminate the mechanical creatures in this zoo.
Since he hadn’t killed them, they must be alive still. They must have simply left the zoo.
“As long as they don’t leave Riverside, I’ll run into them eventually.”
With that thought, Victor turned to leave.
Without mechanical creatures, there was no reason to stay.
Even though he looked down on the weak mechanical creatures that roamed the city, hunting them was better than doing nothing.
“By the way, should I check on those two scumbags?” Victor suddenly thought of Susan and Stanley.
“I’ll go take a look.”

Victor decided that if those two were doing well, he would cause them some trouble.
If they were in a dire situation, he would consider making things worse for them.
After all, he had nothing to do, so he would clear out mechanical creatures while collecting Source Crystals along the way.
After leaving the zoo, Victor didn’t run. He walked leisurely down the street.
Although the streets remained, there weren’t many obstacles in his way.

Victor watched the people being chased with no intention of helping. He was no saint. Everyone had to rely on themself to survive in this apocalypse. If someone died, it was their own fault.
Only when the mechanical creatures attacked him did he strike back.
Yet, even though Victor rarely attacked, his formidable power caught the attention of many.
