Chapter 3
“Enough! Vivian Shaw, I never realized you could be so cruel. The child is injured like this, and you’re still pressuring me?”
Olivia’s quiet sobs mixed with his furious voice.
For a moment, my eyes reddened, but I felt no emotion at all.
Within moments, Olivia clutched her chest, looking like she couldn’t breathe, and collapsed into Ethan’s arms.
He panicked and called for a doctor to examine her, but they couldn’t determine the cause.
One of Olivia’s maids suddenly knelt on the ground, pointing at me and shouting.
“Madam Olivia has been tormented by nightmares every night. You must have used some kind of foul sorcery to harm
our mistress!”
I stared at her calmly. She flinched slightly under my gaze.
Ethan turned his head, suspicion in his eyes.
His thoughts revealed themselves without omission.
**If I find evidence in your room that you hurt Olivia, I will not let you off.“*
He raised his hand and said, “Search the place.”
In an instant, the entire room was torn apart,
The love letters we had written to each other in our youth were shredded and thrown at my feet.
The little trinkets he had made for me with his own hands were trampled into pieces.
In his eyes, there was no regret.
I smiled bitterly, looking at him with growing disappointment.
Olivia seemed to regain some clarity. She pleaded with him desperately.
“Ethan, don’t hurt Vivian because of me. It was my fault for not protecting those five children. Heaven must be
punishing me. I’m so useless.”
He gripped her hand tightly, barely holding back tears.
The maid pulled a doll, talismans, and many other filthy things from under my pillow.
Such a clumsy, childish frame–up made me laugh coldly.

But Ethan’s expression turned black as the bottom of a pot. Clearly, he believed it.
Moments later, Olivia’s father stormed in with a group of people, pointing directly at me.
“Ethan, is this how you treat Olivia? She lost five sons in a row, and now this woman is trying to blame her? She must be
possessed by an evil spirit!”
Ethan paused and said flatly, “What do you suggest we do to kill this evil spirit, Uncle?”
His gaze moved among the three of us. Finally, Olivia’s father spoke directly.
“Accarding to ancient methods, fire should be used. To preserve her life, we can use branding instead. That will permanently eliminate the evil.”
As soon as he finished speaking. Olivia blocked her father and knelt begging Ethan.
“Ethan, that would hurt Vivian. Please don’t.”
She pretended to protect me, but in her heart, she wished she could devour me alive.
I turned to look at Ethan. I found no trace of hesitation in his eyes.
“Fine. We’ll do it according to Uncle’s method.”
Before our wedding, he told me he would never let me suffer.
He said I came from a good family and he would ensure my life was smooth.
He said we would be happy forever and make everyone envious.
He didn’t keep a single one of these promises, yet I believed them all.
I gritted my teeth, tears welling in my eyes.
The red–hot iron pressed hard into my left shoulder. The stench of burning flesh filled the air.
I trembled violently with pain, gut–wrenching screams tearing from my throat.
At that moment, Olivia fainted again. Her father held her, glaring at me with fury.
“Ethan, this method isn’t working. To save Olivia’s life, that child is the only way.”
My child was brought forward. He kept crying, kept struggling.
“Ethan, I’m begging you. Take my life if you want. Don’t touch my child. He’s the last one I have left in this world.”
He pushed me aside and handed the child to Olivia’s father,

I watched helplessly as my child disappeared from my sight. In a fit of rage and grief, I vomited blood.
Ethan stood beside me, taking Olivia from her father’s arms, and spoke coldly.
“Daring to use witchcraft to harm Olivia like this. Not divorcing you is already more mercy than you deserve.”
