Chapter 151 Curiosity Leads to the Trap

The kids only respected their teachers because they didn’t want to get scolded at home

No when the teachers weren’t around, it meant freedom.

As soon as the bell rang, students rushed out of the classroom, excitement written all over their

faces

“Alfred should we go out too Maya glanced outside, already tempted. The teachers rarely muss class Let’s go check it out. Don’t you think it would be fun?

“No It’s boring Alfred covered his face with a book and refused without hesitation.

Maya frowned. How is that boring?”

“Even if it’s fun, it’s not worth my time,” he said calmly.

He didn’t see anything fun about a bunch of students running wild just because teachers were

Maya gave his head a light tap “You really weren’t a curious kid at all, were you?”

Not like she had much either

Sull. Maya thought sneaking around an empty school when teachers were gone felt exciting

Alfred was genuinely uninterested, so she didn’t push the issue. She grabbed Jenny and ran

outside

The hallways were packed with kids running and shouting Laughter echoed everywhere

Maya passed several classrooms, glancing in as she went

The more she looked, the stranger it felt

Almost every classroom had no teacher

Did all the teachers decide to skip work today or something?

Jenny snapped her fingers. “Hey!”

She suggested, “Why don’t we check the principal’s office?”

One teacher being gone was normal. A whole group? That meant something was going on.

Tumpaty Lead to the Trap

If something strange happened, the best person to go to was the principal.

Maya thought for a moment. “Okay.”

They held hands and walked down the hallway.

The office door was tightly shut. Jenny stepped forward, lifted her hand, and knocked a few times.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

No answer came.

She tried again, knocking a little harder this time, but there was no sound.

Jenny tilted her head, clearly getting impatient, and pushed the door open.

In the very next second, a hand shot out from the narrow gap, grabbed her wrist, and yanked her inside with force.

“Arghh!”

Jenny barely managed a short, startled cry before she was pulled forward.

Maya reacted on instinct. She’s reaching out and grabbing her. Maya held on with surprising strength, dragging her back against the pull.

There was more than one person inside. Maya clearly heard someone mutter in a low, surprised voice, “Oh, there’s another one outside.”

Before she could process it, the hand came out again, reaching for her this time.

There was no time to think. Maya released Jenny, twisted her body to the side, and narrowly dodged the grab.

At the same time, she lifted her leg and drove her foot hard into the man’s wrist.

The force was far beyond what anyone would expect from a child.

The man let out a muffled groan as his arm went numb. He withdrew his hand instantly.

Maya took the chance to step away.

The office door swung all the way open.

She finally got a good look. There were seven people inside.

Both men and women were present, and all of them watched her in silence.

Maya sucked in a sharp breath.

She didn’t know exactly who the school administrators were supposed to be, but people in those positions should be in their 40s or 50s.

But the group in front of her…

Some lounged back in their chairs, relaxed. Some sat with their legs crossed.

One stood off to the side, casually smoking.

And every single pair of eyes was fixed on her.

The sight sent a chill down her spine.

Jenny had completely broken down. She burst into loud sobs, tears streaming down her face as she shouted in panic, “Run! Hurry!”

Maya didn’t hesitate. She turned and ran.

Inside the office, the air fell strangely quiet for a second.

Then someone let out a laugh.

“We’ve already caught a few today. These kids are far too curious, walking right into the trap one after another.”

Another person chuckled in agreement. “Exactly. That boy even asked me, ‘Are you a new teacher?””

One man, who looked especially gentle, stood up and walked over to Jenny and crouched in front of her.

He wore a warm smile, like a friendly neighbor you might trust at first glance.

“Hey there,” he said softly. “Why don’t you tell us about your parents? What do they do?”

Jenny had been crying uncontrollably, but her survival instinct kicked in. She forced herself to stop, choking back her tears.

“M-my mom is a designer…” she stammered, her words tumbling out quickly. “She shows her work at big international exhibitions. My dad-my dad owns a hotel chain… a really famous

one…”

“Very good.”

The man smiled again, even gentler than before.

He straightened up and gave a small nod to the others.

“Take her outside,” he said calmly. “Make a call. Let’s have a nice talk with her parents.”

One of them nodded, grabbed Jenny, and carried her out.
