As the officers moved in to cuff her, Yvonne fought back frantically. “Let me go! I didn’t do it! Tracy is lying And I’m pregnant! You can’t take me, I’m an expectant mother!”
She had hoped the child would be her get-out-of-jail-free card. Even if Tracy had proof, she figured she could apply for a stay and use that time to make Tracy’s life a living hell.
The officer didn’t blink. “Even if you are pregnant, the evidence is solid. You’ll be held in criminal detention.”
Yvonne’s last hope shattered as they dragged her away.
Jared walked over to Tracy and handed her the contract. “Tracy, the people who hurt you are gone Can you forgive me now?”
Tracy took the documents and let out a cold, thin smile. “No. You hurt me just as much as they did. What right do you have to ask for anything? When you chose Yvonne over me time and time again, you should have known it would end like this.”
