“There is no way I’m ever making peace with you. You might as well get that through your head right now.”
Yvonne was one thing, but it was the Xander family’s actual behavior that had completely killed any feeling she had for them. She wasn’t going to forgive them, and she was never going to reconcile.
As she was thinking this, Jared’s phone rang. It was Linda, sounding panicked. “Sir, the police just took Madam Faye away. What’s going on?”
“She and Yvonne committed a crime,” Jared said flatly. “It’s time they dealt with the consequences.”
Tracy didn’t stick around to listen. She walked over to Waylon. “Sorry about that, Mr. Waylon. I didn’t mean to drag you into my family’s mess. My apologies.”
Waylon handed her a pen. “I had no idea Yvonne was your sister, or that she’d done all that. Honestly, I admire you, Tracy. You’ve been through a lot, but you stayed professional and handled it all with a clear head.”
Tracy just smiled, signed the contract, and shook his hand. “Good working with you, Mr. Waylon.”
“You too.”
With the signing done, the room was full of mixed reactions, but nobody dared to say anything. Reporters swarmed Waylon immediately since it was his first time appearing on a live stream.
Tracy was about to leave when Jared blocked her path. “Tracy, I know I messed up. Can you please come back and help me? You’re a Xander too. You can’t just watch Grandpa’s company go bankrupt. I know Grandma left a will. She left you twenty percent of the shares.”
He paused, sounding desperate. “I know we treated you badly, but you’re a shareholder now. If the company fails, you lose too. At Vector Tech, you’re just an employee. At Xander Corp, you’d be an owner. If twenty percent isn’t enough, I’ll give you Yvonne’s shares too. Just tell me what you want.”
He was completely out of options. He knew what was coming and they were lawsuits, a PR disaster, and no cash. Xander Corp wouldn’t survive this. It was over.
Tracy shoved his hand away. “This is your problem, not mine. Don’t try to pin it on me. When you were letting Yvonne and her mother do whatever they wanted, did you care that I was your sister? When you were all living it up, did you ever wonder if my mom and I even had food? I never saw the benefits of being a Xander, so why should I have to deal with the fallout now that it’s falling apart?”
The man’s nerve was unbelievable. Even now, he was trying to guilt-trip her. He actually thought bringing up Grandma would change anything.
She saw the look on his face and kept going. “You’re in this mess because you trusted Yvonne. Now that you’ve lost money, you want to blame everyone else. Look at yourself. Even after you knew the truth, you helped them hide it to try and ruin me. You knew they wanted me dead and you still helped them. You pushed me to the edge. I’m never forgiving you for that.”
Her eyes were red by the time she finished. Her grandma’s death was still a massive source of pain for her. And yet Jared, knowing everything, had still sided with Yvonne just to take her down. He was the kind of person who would do anything for himself.

Jared scrambled to his feet, trying to explain. “No, Tracy, listen. I was going to turn her in right after the signing. I have the proof right here.”
He pulled a stack of papers out of his bag and held them out. “Look, I found all of this. I’m not lying, I swear. You have to believe me.”
Tracy slapped the papers out of his hand, and they scattered all over the floor. “Stop it, Jared. You’re making me sick. You think doing this now makes everything else okay? I’m not forgiving you, and I’m definitely not working for you. Give it up.”
Tracy walked away with Sam. Jared tried to follow, but Sam stepped in and blocked him.
