Jared started to say something, but his phone rang. It was his assistant. “Sir, it’s bad. The Whites bailed Yvonne out. She’s already back at their place.”
“What?” Jared couldn’t believe it. “How did they pull that off?”
With all the charges against her, the Whites still managed to get her out. They were clearly doing whatever it took to keep their own names clear.
The assistant hesitated. “Sir, Yvonne is a month pregnant. She put everything on Faye, and Faye took the hit. Faye confessed that she and the Gingers did it all and Yvonne didn’t know anything. The Gingers are locked up too. It looks like they all coordinated their stories. Between the pregnancy and the White family’s pull, she’s out. She’s under house arrest, so she’s being watched, but she’s out of jail.”
Jared’s voice went flat. “I see.”
He didn’t see that coming. Using a pregnancy to throw her own mother under the bus. Now she was back with the Whites while Faye sat in a cell. Yvonne would step over anyone to save herself, even her own mother.

The Whites protected her to protect themselves. Now, no matter what evidence they had, they couldn’t Couch her while she was pregnant.

Julie was standing right there, looking at Tracy with a smirk. “I told you I’d handle it. They aren’t saying a word about what happened ten years ago now. Are you happy with how that worked out?”
Tracy looked at the two of them and just laughed. “You two really are a pair. You use the same cheap tricks. You think bailing her out and letting Faye take the fall makes you safe? You’re dreaming. I still have the evidence. If I want to sue, I can do it whenever I want.”
She knew exactly how Yvonne did it. Blame the mother, blame the Gingers, use the pregnancy to stay home.
