“Ah! Honey! Honey, it’s me!”
The zombie granny lunged, ripping into the woman’s stomach. The creature tore greedily, shredding her
insides.
The last thing she saw was a car speeding away, leaving a trail of exhaust behind-the same one that
hadn’t stopped.
Hayley caught a quick glimpse in the rearview mirror of the woman being attacked, then looked away immediately.
Kindness? Helping others?
That would only exist in heaven.
Here, it was hell.
Hayley slammed the gas.
Whoosh! Vroom! Bang, bang!
She barreled forward, but the road ahead was a nightmare.
Vehicles and people were running the wrong way, straight toward her.
At the next intersection, several cars had flipped, blocking almost the entire lane. As Hayley weaved through, she saw groups of zombies clustered around the open doors of overturned cars, gnawing on the drivers and passengers. Screams ripped through the air as blood gushed everywhere.
The zombies smelled her moving car and started chasing it like fresh prey.
Anything alive and moving was a target. The entire intersection was chaos.
Hayley’s brow furrowed. This route wasn’t right… Why were there so many zombies here?
Then she spotted it-a huge red cross ahead.
Damn it! A hospital!
She had been wondering why this street was so bad. Now she knew-it was close to a hospital.
Bang, bang, bang!
Hayley plowed through a dozen zombies, racing past the intersection. The hospital was a hotspot, but once she cleared it, she’d be safe.
Zombies pouring from side entrances saw her car heading straight for them and lunged in waves.
A blood-covered female zombie in a nurse’s uniform was the fastest. She smashed through a barrier, lunging straight at Hayley’s car.

With a loud noise, a bloody hand slammed against the windshield. The nurse’s gory mouth opened wide, biting at the glass.
From this close, Hayley could see her face, mangled and dripping blood. Her nose was gone, leaving a raw, bloody hole. One eyeball dangled from its socket, eyelid missing. Half her mouth was ripped to the bone, the other half still had traces of the bright lipstick she had applied that morning.
“Argh! Arghh!”
The zombie nurse tried several bites and got frustrated when she couldn’t reach Hayley. She opened her bloody, messed-up mouth wider, which tore her face even more and made her look like a horror anime character, ready to smash the glass.
Screech!
Hayley slammed the brakes, spun a perfect 360, and flung the zombie away, dodging another wave of
attackers.
She wasn’t afraid of zombies. She had killed too many already.
Hayley hit the gas again and roared forward, leaving the hospital behind.
Just as she cleared another intersection, a massive 22-wheel truck lost control and smashed into a small car, right on the route she had to take.
