I stood there frozen, my shoulders locked, Kade’s mouth still on mine and his hand gripping the back of my neck so tightly I could barely move.
My brain couldn’t catch up. One second he was dragging me, the next he was kissing me.
Then a roar ripped through the trees, so loud it made me flinch and jerk backward.
Damien.
He came out of nowhere, his black wolf form exploding through the bushes, eyes glowing red.
Leaves flew under his paws as he launched forward and slammed into Kade so hard they both flew sideways.
Kade shifted mid-air, claws snapping out, and the two massive wolves crashed into the ground in a violent tangle.
I screamed, stumbling after them with my hands flying to my mouth. “Damien! Stop!”
They didn’t hear me, they were already tearing into each other.
Damien’s claws raked down Kade’s side, ripping fur and skin.
Blood sprayed across the dirt. Kade twisted fast and sank his teeth into Damien’s shoulder.
Damien roared and shoved him hard, slamming Kade into a tree trunk so violently the wood cracked behind
him.
Kade lunged again, claws slashing across Damien’s chest and leaving deep gashes that made my stomach turn.
I stumbled back, my knees going weak as I pressed both hands over my mouth. “Stop! Both of you stop!”
They rolled across the ground, snarling and snapping, claws cutting into flesh every time one of them gained the upper hand.
Damien pinned Kade for a second and bit down on his neck. Kade let out a savage growl, kicked hard, and flipped them with a brutal twist of strength. Now Kade was on top, his claws digging into Damien’s ribs.
I was shaking so bad I could barely stand, my fingers trembling against my lips as tears blurred my vision. “You’re going to kill each other! Please!”
Damien’s red eyes flicked to me for half a second. That was enough.
He shoved Kade off him with a violent burst of power and shifted back to human form, naked and covered in blood,
His chest heaved as he stood there breathing hard, blood running down his skin while the gashes on his body were already closing.

Kade shifted back too, bent slightly at the waist as he dragged in a breath, blood running down his torso and dripping onto the ground.
Damien reached for me without looking away from Kade, grabbed my arm, and pulled me behind him until my shoulder hit his back, “go back to the packhouse.”
I looked between them in absolute shock trying to process what the fuck just happened, “you almost killed each other.”
Damien didn’t answer. His jaw stayed tight as he turned and started walking, dragging me with him.
His grip was firm around my arm but not hurting. I kept looking back over my shoulder, and Kade stayed behind, watching us leave with his chest still rising fast.
We walked the whole way back in silence. My feet kept catching on roots and Damien’s hand never left my arm, steadying me every time I stumbled.
His body was still streaked with blood by the time we reached the packhouse, and he took me straight upstairs to our room and shut the door behind us with a hard push.
I pulled my arm free the second the door closed and raked both hands through my hair, pacing a few steps before turning back to him. “What the hell was that?!”
Damien walked to the dresser, yanked open a drawer, and grabbed a clean shirt. He pulled it over his head in one sharp movement. “He touched you and fucking kissed you. He’s done.”
I stared at him, my hands dropping to my sides before I threw one out in disbelief, “so you almost rip his throat out in front of me? I was scared you were going to die.”
He didn’t look at me. He just adjusted the shirt over his shoulders, “I wasn’t going to die.” He said the words like i was an idiot for thinking that way.
Damien finally turned to face me. His face was still cold, but his eyes looked darker than usual, “I called a meeting with all the alphas for right now.”
I knew it must be the mind link thing but i couldn’t be bothered to ask.
I followed him downstairs, one hand wrapped around my own wrist as I tried to steady myself.
The main hall was packed. Elias, Rafe, Theo, Kade, Alice, and Linda were already waiting, some standing, some leaning back stiffly, and everyone looked tense.
Damien didn’t waste time. He stepped into the middle of the room, shoulders squared, and spoke without hesitation, “Kade is banned from this pack alliance, effective immediately.”
The room went dead quiet.
Elias leaned forward in his chair, planting his elbows on his knees as he stared at Damien. “What? You can’t just ban him, we need every alpha we can get.”
Rafe nodded, rubbing a hand over his jaw before folding his arms across his chest, “this is war, Damien.

Theo stayed quiet, but his eyebrows were furrowed and his mouth had gone tight as he looked between both of them.
Alice crossed her arms and shifted her weight onto one leg, her chin lifting as she looked straight at Damien.
“You have to come to your senses, stop using personal beef. We need all the hands we can get, this is a war. You have to stop being egotistic and selfish.”
Damien stared at the table for a second. No one was on his side. Alice looked at him like he was crazy, Elias shook his head, Rafe crossed his arms and even Theo stayed quiet.
He didn’t say another word. He just turned around and walked out of the room.
I stood there frozen, looking between all of them. Their eyes were all on me now.
Kade was still panting in the corner, fists clenched tight by his sides, looking like he was ready to destroy Damien the second he got the chance.
I didn’t wait, I turned and followed Damien out.
We got to our room and he slammed the door behind us.
He started scattering things around, knocking books off the shelf, shoving a chair hard so it crashed into the
wall.
His shoulders were tight and he was breathing fast. He was a powerful werewolf and right now he looked like he could tear the whole room apart.
I was scared but I grabbed a towel from the bathroom anyway and walked up to him slowly.
The minute I got closer, his head snapped in my direction, I froze in place out of fear, squeezing the towel tightly between my hands. I continued to move, crouching in front of him. His eyes followed the towel as l brought it up to his chest and he snarled when he realized what I was about to do to him.
He didn’t look at me, “It will heal by itself.”
I ignored him and pressed the towel to the deep claw marks on his chest. I wiped the blood away gently. He kept staring at me the whole time, eyes hard.
“Why on earth would you let him kiss you?” he snapped. “I told you to stay in the room. I gave you instructions.”
I kept cleaning the blood, my fingers trembling. “I didn’t let him, he grabbed me.”
“You still let it happen,” he said, voice rising. “I gave you one simple order and you couldn’t even do that.”
I looked up at him, brows furrowed. “Why do you even care anyways?”
He stared at me like I was stupid.

I finally met his gaze and held it. “I saw you when you kissed Alice.”
