Alice kept staring at me, arms crossed, waiting for an answer.

My heart slammed against my ribs. I raked my fingers through my hair and looked at Damien, eyes wide, begging for help without saying a word.

Damien stepped in front of me a little more, blocking her view. He looked straight at Alice, voice flat. “She didn’t shift because she was already in human form when she ran after you. She’s still new to the pack and doesn’t have full control yet. Panic sets in, and her wolf stays locked down, happens to a lot of younger ones.”

Alice tilted her head, eyebrows furrowed. “She ran wolf speed on two legs.”

Damien shrugged once. “Adrenaline. Fear makes people do weird shit. She’s fine now. Drop it.”

Rafe laughed and slapped Damien on the shoulder. “Man, chill. She’s okay. Let’s not turn this into an interrogation.”

Alice looked at me one more time, then nodded slow.

I let out a shaky breath and crossed my arms tight over my chest. My hands still trembled.

Rafe rubbed the back of his neck and grinned at everyone. “Well, while everyone’s resting, we planned to celebrate. We know we have victory in advance. Let’s settle people first, get them fed and bedded down, then we rest up proper. Party tomorrow night.”

Elias nodded. “Good call. I’ll round up the families and get them assigned rooms.” Theo already started walking toward the main hall. “I’ll help with the food line. Kids need to eat before they crash.”

Damien turned to me and grabbed my wrist. He pulled me down a side hallway away from the others. When we were alone he let go and looked at me with hard eyes.

“Be careful,” he said low. “You almost got yourself exposed. Again.”

I shifted on my feet and raked my fingers through my hair. “I know. I panicked. I’m sorry.” He stepped closer. “No more running off. No more stupid risks. Stay where I put you.” I nodded quick. “I will. I promise.”

He stared at me for a second longer, then jerked his head toward the main room.” Come on. Help settle everyone.”

We walked back out. The packhouse was busy. Women carried sleeping pups to spare rooms. Older wolves sat at tables eating whatever was left from the kitchens. I

grabbed a stack of blankets from a pile and started handing them out.

A mom with a toddler on her hip took one and smiled tired. “Thanks, Luna. This place feels safer already.”

I forced a smile back. “We’ve got you. Get some rest.”

I moved to the next group, passing out pillows and water bottles. Damien worked the other side of the room, directing people to open cots and spare bedrooms. Rafe hauled boxes of snacks and passed them around. Elias talked to the scouts, checking weapons and shifts.

After about an hour the noise died down. Most people were settled kids asleep on cots, moms curled next to them, older ones talking quiet in corners. I wiped sweat off my forehead and looked around. The place felt full but calm.

Linda walked up with Alice and Damien behind her. She held up a bottle of whiskey and a stack of plastic cups. “We’re crashing in the private lounge upstairs. Just us. Need to talk strategy anyway.”

Alice nodded. “And drink, we earned it.”

We climbed the back stairs to the small lounge room. Linda pushed the door open. Someone had already set up a low table with more bottles, glasses, chips, and a couple packs of cards. Rafe flopped onto the couch first and kicked his boots off. “Finally,” he said. “My feet are killing me.”

Elias grabbed a bottle and poured drinks. “To surviving the first hit.”

We all took cups. I sat on the arm of the couch next to Damien. He didn’t sit. He stood by the window, arms crossed, staring outside.

Linda raised her cup. “To stronger borders and no more surprises.”

Alice sat across from me and looked at Damien. “You good?”

He nodded once. “Fine.”

She turned to me. “You ran pretty far out there. You sure you’re okay?”

I shifted on the couch arm and raked my fingers through my hair. “Yeah.”

Damien finally moved. He sat on the couch next to me, close enough that his thigh pressed against mine. He didn’t look at me, just stared at his cup.

Linda slammed her empty cup on the table and stood up. “Enough fight talk. We just survived two explosions. Let’s get some entertainment in here before we all go crazy.” Alice laughed and pushed off the couch. “I’m in. Music?”

Rafe grabbed his phone from the table and connected it to the small speaker in the corner. A slow bass-heavy beat started thumping through the room. Alice kicked off her boots and stepped into the open space between the couches.

She started moving. Hips rolling slow, arms up, hair swinging with every twist. The

beat picked up and she dropped low, popped back up, spun once. Her dress hugged every curve. She looked effortless, powerful, like she owned the floor.

Rafe whistled loud. “Wooo! Go Alice!”

Elias clapped once. “Damn, that’s how you do it.”

Theo grinned and raised his cup. “Queen shit.”

Linda joined in, swaying next to her, laughing. “You still got it, girl.”

Alice threw her head back and dropped into a full split, then rolled up smooth. The room cheered again. Everyone was watching her, eyes wide, smiling, hyped.

I sat on the couch arm, cup of water in my hand, and felt my stomach twist. Jealousy burned hot in my chest. She moved like she belonged everywhere she went. Everyone cheered for her. Again. Always her.

I set my water down hard on the table. Everyone looked at me.

I stood up slow. My heart hammered. I raked my fingers through my hair and walked into the open space. The beat was still going, slower now, heavy.

I looked straight at Damien. He sat on the couch, arms crossed, face blank like always. I didn’t break eye contact.

I started moving. Slow at first. Hips rolling side to side, hands sliding up my sides, over my breasts, into my hair. I dropped low, thighs spreading, then popped back up, back arched. I turned so my ass faced him and bent forward, rolling my hips in a slow circle.

The room went dead quiet.

I spun back around and walked toward him. One foot in front of the other, hips swaying hard. I dropped into a squat right in front of his knees, thighs open, hands on his thighs. I rolled up slow, dragging my hands up his chest, then leaned in close

enough that my lips almost brushed his ear.

“Like what you see?” I whispered.

His jaw tightened. He didn’t move or blink.

I backed up a step, turned, and dropped into a full twerk. Ass bouncing to the beat, hands on my knees, hair swinging. I looked over my shoulder at him the whole time.

Rafe’s mouth dropped open. “Holy shit.”

Elias choked on his drink. “Luna?”

Linda stared with wide eyes. “Sienna…”

Alice stopped moving and crossed her arms. She raised one eyebrow but didn’t say anything.

I kept going. Dropped to my knees, arched my back, rolled my hips in slow circles. I

crawled forward a little, ass up, looking right at Damien. My dress rode up my thighs. I

didn’t care.

Damien’s hands clenched on his knees. His eyes stayed locked on me. No smile. No words. Just that cold stare.

I stood up slow, turned, and straddled his lap without touching him. I hovered an inch above his thighs and rolled my hips in the air, hands in my hair, eyes on his.

The room was silent except for the music.

I leaned in close, lips near his ear again so only him could hear. “Still think I’m weaker than your weakest omega?”

I slid off him, backed up, and dropped into one last low roll, ass popping to the beat. Then I straightened up, flipped my hair, and walked back to the couch arm like nothing happened.

The room exploded.

Rafe whistled so loud it hurt my ears. “What the fuck was that?!”

Elias laughed hard. “I need another drink after that.”

Linda stared at me with her mouth open. “Sienna… girl.”

Alice clapped once, slow. “Didn’t see that coming.”

I sat down on the couch arm, face burning, heart racing. I raked my fingers through my hair but Damien shocked me getting to his feet and pulling my wrist, dragging me out of there.
