He noticed my discomfort and patiently explained. 

“My father wants me to take over the family business, but I’d rather make my own way. To experience life and temporarily avoid the family arrangements, I took a job delivering food.” 

“That day at the show, I’d actually just finished my last delivery and was dragged along by a coworker to fill an audience seat.” 

Then he changed the subject. “But that wasn’t the first time we met.” 

“A month ago, outside a building in the financial district, you gave a business lunch you were about to throw away to a delivery guy. Remember?” 

I thought carefully, then shook my head slightly. “No, I don’t.” 

Ryan smiled wryly.

I covered my face in embarrassment.

Suddenly, he stopped and turned to look at me. “What
