David looked down at his own hands, suddenly realizing

with a start…

All these years, his seemingly neutral silence-how was it any different from his father’s outright favoritism?

Thinking this, he turned and went upstairs without another word.

Ryan rented an old villa in Beverly Hills.

The old garden gate was forcibly kicked open by bodyguards, and my father stormed in with his

entourage.

After looking around, he pointed at me and scolded, “Emily! You’ve disgraced the Williams family!”

“Come home with me!”

I put down the watering can I was holding and looked up calmly. “I’m married. This is my home now.”

My father kicked a flowerpot on the ground and pointed at my nose. “That delivery guy doesn’t even have a proper job! This isn’t a real marriage, it’s a sham!”
