Crystal’s P.O.V.

“Why did he want me to come back so soon, Dad? Did something happen there?” I asked Dad in a worried tone over the call. He called me a few minutes ago and told me about Prince Killian’s order.
“He knows everything about you, Crystal. I don ow what happened to him but he ordered me to call you after he saw your photo. His face was ghastly pale, as if he had seen an army of ghosts,” he answered me in a worried tone.
I pursed my lips into a thin line. “The event will start in the next half an hour. If you want, I can video call you,” he said after some time.
“No, dad… I don’t have any mood to see the ceremony. I will pass,” I refused immediately. There was no way that I would see his ceremony and how he deceives everyone by marking his fake mate.
“Crystal,” Dad called me in a low tone this time. I felt uneasy, as there was something in his voice that I couldn’t pinpoint.
“What is it, dad?” I asked him in a calm tone. There was silence at his end for a few seconds which made my heart start beating furiously.
“Did something happen at your birthday?” he asked me in a low tone, making my heart skipped a beat. Did Adam say something about his rejection?
“No, dad.. nothing unusual happened? Why did you ask?” I lied to him in a calm tone, and asked him the reason of his doubt.
“Don’t lie to me, Crystal. If I am not wrong then Prince Killian will ask you the same question when he meets you. He can detect a lie easily,” he warned me, and now I was scared to my wits. What exactly was the deal with this Prince? Why he was so interested in me?
“He asked me the same question and the way he was looking at me, I don’t know, but I have this hunch that he knows something that I didn’t. That’s why I am asking you…. Did something happen to you that day?” he explained in a calm tone, but asked again in a stern tone.
I didn’t know for how long I would keep this secret a secret, and how would he react. “Dad… uhhhh… I will be there by noon, and we will talk first before meeting the Prince,” I said to him in a calm tone instead of answering him. I heard him sighing, making me purse my lips into a thin line.
“Okay, princess… as you wish… come home soon. I really miss you,” he said in defeat, making me smile this time.
“I miss you too, dad… I will be there soon,” I whispered, trying hard to conceal my emotions. I was really missing my family. After saying a few more things to me, dad hung up. I stayed glued on my place while thinking about what I was going to do if Prince Killian asked me the same question.
I was in my room when I received this call from my dad. I was having a headache and that was why I returned to my room after lunch to take a nap. I slept well, and woke up in the evening. I was about to go to the washroom to freshen up when I received this call.

In the past few days, my life had taken so many twists and turns that I was now unassure about everything. My first mate rejected me, and my second mate is my cousin. Theo was continuously trying to make me believe that he wouldn’t reject me at any cost but I was still on pins and needles.
What if Theo came to know that he is my second chance mate? Would he still willing to accept me? The mere thought of his rejection passed a chill through my spine, making me shiver hard. “Don’t think so bad, girl… you are now scaring me too,” Luna immediately scolded me an anxious tone.
“I don’t want to go through the rejection again, Li ..I cried in front of my wolf. She was me and I was her. She sighed helplessly and I could see worry in her eyes too.
“I also don’t want to go through the same pain again, Crystal… I… I am scared too,” she said in an anxious tone. I sniffed and the intoxicating scent of Theo hit my nostrils.
I opened my eyes and at the same time, he barged in while opening the door with a loud bang. The worry was written all over his face.
“What happened? Why are you crying?” he asked me in a panic tone while running towards me. I couldn’t utter a word but burst into tears. I threw myself in his embrace and hugged him tightly by his neck. He immediately wrapped his hands around me waist, and held me tightly in his embrace.
“What happened? Did anyone say something to you?” he asked me again in the same panicked tone. “Tell him… it’s better if you tell him instead of he learns from someone else,” Luna said in a sad tone but I knew she was right.
“1… I wan… want to tell you something,” I said while crying harder. I had buried my face in the crook of his neck.
“Calm down first and then tell me whatever you want to say. You know that you can trust me with everything, right?” he consoled me in a gentle tone, and pulled me up. He put me down on the bed again, but I refused to let him go.
He slowly pulled me away from him when I calmed down after wailing my eyes out. He picked up the glass of water from the night stand, and gave it to me. I drank a mouthful of water as my throat was completely dry due to crying.
“Now tell me what you want to say? I am all ears,” he said in a calm tone, still holding me by my waist. I bit my lower lip furiously while looking at him anxiously.
Theo’s P.O.V.
The rage filled my entire body when Crystal finished telling me about Adam’s rejection. He dared rejecting his fated mate just because she was a beta?
“Don’t be mad. We should be thankful to him. He rejected her and the Moon Goddess our love of our life to us. It’s our fate,” Thunder said in a calm tone, but it didn’t calm me down,
“He dared hurt Crystal. Mate or not… I will not allow anyone to hurt her in any way let alone rejecting her. Don’t you know how painful it is?” I yelled at Thunder, making him shut his mouth. He didn’t say a word to

“Comfort her… she is about to cry. I have my mate to comfort,” he said in a flat tone before retreating back. I

“Hey.. hey… why are you crying now?” I immediately cupped her face, and asked her in a gentle tone, suppressing my anger. I couldn’t stand her tears and she knew this very well.
“Are you mad at me?” she asked me in a choked tone, while looking at me with a painful gaze. I frowned while looking at her in confusion.
“Why would I be mad at you?” I asked her in co
ion. She immediately held my hand on her face. I could
feel that she was seeking omfort right now. I sighed and pulled her in my embrace again. I put her head on my chest and wrapped my hands around her torso.
“I am glad that he rejected you, love. His rejection gave me the chance to be with you. So, don’t think too much about anything. I am happy that you are mine.. and mine alone,” I comforted her telling the same thing that Thunder said to me. I could hear him snickering but I didn’t pay attention to him.
“I… I think the prince also know about this,” she said and I knitted my brows in confusion. There was no way that Adam would tell anyone about what he did with his fate mate, and Crystal was here before the prince reached there. Who could tell him about this incident then?
“According to what I know about him, one of his abilities is to feel the strength of bonds among the wolves. I.. I am having this feeling that he must have sensed that something wrong between Adam and Rachel as their bond is not as stronger as it should be if they are fated mates,” she put her assumption in front of me in a low
tone.
I straightened my eyes and signaled her to continue. To be honest, I was really surprised to hear what she told me about the prince. I knew that he had so many special abilities but it was a surprise to me. She cleared her throat and slowly lifted her head up.
I licked my lips when my gaze fell on her full pink lips. I wanted to kiss her so badly she was still hesitant. She had accepted me but she was still waiting for everyone to give us their approval. She took her lower lip in between her teeth again when her eyes flickered between my eyes and my lips. I knew she also wanted the same thing.
“You are so tempting, princess,” I whispered while leaning towards her. She just blinked innocently but didn’t move her face away. My heart was now pounding hard in my chest. I held my breath while leaning towards. her face. She slowly closed her eyes, making me close my eyes too. I could now feel her hot breaths. I slowly pulled her towards me while tightening my grip on her torso.
We both were startled by the loud ringing of her phone. She immediately pushed me away, making me scowl. I wanted to kill whoever had called her right now, ruining my moment with her. She immediately picked up her phone from the bed. I sighed in defeat when I saw William’s name on the screen.
She smiled and picked up the call immediately. I took the phone from her hand and put the call on the speaker. “Why are you calling this late, huh?” I asked him annoyingly, making Pearl glared at me.
“Late??? Why her phone is with you?” he asked me in a confused tone instead of answering me. “Hey, William… how are you? Missing me?” she chirped, and my expression went dark immediately. “I am really missing you, princess. I am so happy that you are coming back tomorrow,” he also chirped in response and I smirked internally. She was going back but she would come back with me forever this time.
“Why did
you call this time? Shouldn’t you be in the ceremony?” Crystal asked him in a confused tone,

making me raised my brows curiously too. “The ceremony hasn’t started yet,” he grumbled and we both looked at each other in confusion.
“Why?” she asked him again. “Rachel is still in beauty parlour,” he grumbled again, and I groaned in frustration. The girl really had some guts. She was going to mark someone who was not her mate. Still she wanted to look beautiful.
“Anyways… I called you to tell you something about the prince,” he continued and we both looked at each other again. “He came our home today, and ..you know that both I and Vincent are angry with you,” he
was about to tell someg about the prince but whined about something else.
“Why? Why are you angry with me?” she immediately asked him in an anxious tone.
“Why? Are you asking me, girl? You have a special wolf with so many special abilities, and you hid this from us? From your brothers?” he answered her in an accusing tone, and I looked at her again when I remembered that we didn’t talk about her wolf after that night.
Crystal scratched the back of her head awkwardly. “It was King’s orders, William, and I was bound by it,” she answered him in a low tone, lowering her eyes. I immediately pulled her close to me again, making her looked at me questioningly.
“Yeah… right…. When I and Vincent learned about your wolf, we were dumbfounded. You should have seen Adam’s expression at that time. He turned white as if someone had drained all the blood from his body. I don’t know what’s his deal with you, as if he never leave an opportunity to criticize you, but after he learned about how special your wolf is, he stopped talking nonsense about you. To be honest, Crystal, now I am reconsidering my decision to take over dad’s position,” he told in a serious tone, but his last statement made both of us raised our brows.
“What happened, William? Why are you not willing to take over now?” Crystal asked him anxiously this time. I took a deep breath as I had an idea about why William was not willing now. Now I was worried about my cousins. How would they react when they came to know what Adam did with Crystal?
