Chapter 256 The Smoking Gun
Tracy pulled a divorce certificate from her bag and threw it directly into Chase’s face.

“Take a good look, Chase. Look at the kind of woman your precious sister actually is. Chandler and I only finalized this divorce two months ago, but Yvonne has been sleeping with him for over a year. Open your eyes and look at the dates. Who stole whose man? Your darling Yvonne is nothing but a homewrecker who forced her way into someone else’s marriage.”
Chase fumbled with the document. The date of the decree was September 1st. Yvonne had bragged to them about her new relationship months before that.
The reality hit him like a physical blow. His sweet sister had been the mistress in his own biological sister’s marriage.
And they had spent months helping Yvonne steal Tracy’s husband. It was a sick, twisted joke.
Jared grabbed the certificate next. As his eyes scanned the dates, he felt a wave of nausea.
He was extremely conflicted.
Tracy hadn’t been lying. Yvonne really had seduced a married man, and that man was her own brother-in-law. Yvonne had paraded him in front of them, flaunting the affair. No wonder Tracy’s reaction that day had been so explosive.
Yet they hadn’t believed a word she said. To protect Yvonne, they had relentlessly attacked Tracy, warning her over and over again to stop trying to steal Yvonne’s boyfriend.
The irony was suffocating.
Yvonne was shaking with rage. She hadn’t expected Tracy to produce the actual paperwork tonight; it caught her completely off guard. With the evidence staring them in the face, she was cornered.
Sarah clutched Tracy’s hand, tears streaming down her face. “My poor Tracy… you went through all this alone. Why didn’t you tell me? If I hadn’t gone to see Morgan and overheard the truth, I never would have guessed these two had treated you so cruelly.”
Chase turned a sharp, piercing glare on Yvonne. “Yvonne, you owe us an explanation. You told us Chandler was single. How do you explain this?”
Yvonne’s heart was hammering against her ribs, but she forced herself to look composed. Beside her, Faye looked like she was about to have a heart attack.

supposed to know they’d keep something as big as a marriage a secret from the whole family?”
She had to stick to the script: she was a victim of Chandler’s lies. Even if they investigated, she was confident they wouldn’t find proof that she knew the truth back then.
Feeling the pressure lift slightly, Yvonne turned to Tracy, her voice trembling with mock hurt. “Tracy, I swear, I didn’t know. If I’d known he was your husband, I never would have looked at him. You both kept us in the dark, and now you’re bringing this up just to get us to help you with your company’s crisis? Fine. I’ll talk to everyone. Once our project launches and we sign

In her mind, Yvonne was already celebrating. Once the Vector Tech project launched, Tracy would be exposed as a plagiarist. The engineers she’d poached had used pieces of the original code; as long as Yvonne’s project hit the market first, Tracy would be branded a thief for life.
She couldn’t wait to finally grind Tracy into the dirt.
Chase looked back at Tracy, his expression shifting to one of mild annoyance. “Tracy, she didn’t know. She was played by Chandler, too. Let it go. Besides, it’s not like you actually lost anything, so stop clinging to the past.”
Even with the shock of the revelation, his instinct was to trust Yvonne. He wanted to believe she was innocent.
Faye jumped in, sobbing alongside her daughter. “It’s true, Tracy. Yvonne had no clue. She even told me she wanted to set you up with a successful colleague of hers. She’s always looking out for you. Please, stop doubting her.”
Faye exhaled slowly, her heart finally slowing down. That was a close call. Thank God Yvonne was quick on her feet, or they would have been finished.
Tracy looked at Chase, a cold, mocking laugh escaping her lips. “Let it go? She says she didn’t know, and you just buy it? Her mother spent her life as a mistress; is it really that shocking that the daughter followed suit? I told you months ago she was a homewrecker, and you didn’t believe me then. Now the proof is in your hands, and you’re still making excuses for her.”
