The live stream chat was exploding, almost entirely focused on the star of the hour, Yvonne. Since the fans adored her, they naturally treated Tracy as nothing more than a stepping stone. People from all walks of life were flooding the comments, calling Tracy shameless.
A few people tried to push back, and soon enough, the chat turned into a battlefield.
“Can you people be reasonable? Tracy took first place in the exam. How can you talk about her like that?”
“How do you know she didn’t cheat? Our goddess Yvonne is a PhD from Northville University. Tracy is just a graduate from some no-name school. She’s not even in the same league.”
“Who said Tracy went to a no-name school? Waylon himself confirmed she’s a Cloud University grad. Even the investigation team found nothing wrong, so what are you all barking about?”
“Even if she went to Cloud University, so what? Yvonne is the lead today. Didn’t you see Waylon talking to them earlier? You’re on the wrong side.”
The comments were scrolling so fast they took over the screen. Neither side was willing to back down. The viewer count was skyrocketing as people picked sides and started tearing into each other.
On stage, Waylon finished his speech and pulled out the documents. “Now, it’s time for the signing. The moment we’ve all been waiting for has arrived.”
The chat erupted again with waves of support for Yvonne. The few voices supporting Tracy were instantly buried under the noise.
Yvonne walked onto the stage with a polished smile, greeting the cameras with practiced grace. “Hello everyone, I’m Yvonne. It’s such an honor to share this joy with all of you today. With your support, our research will only go from strength to strength.”
The room broke into thunderous applause. Surrounded by cheers, Yvonne slowly made her way toward Waylon.
Tracy watched from the crowd, finding the whole thing hysterical. Yvonne just couldn’t help herself; she had to rush the stage.
Sam gave a light laugh. “Your stepsister is something else, Tracy. Waylon hasn’t even announced who he’s signing with, and she’s already up there claiming it. She looks so smug it’s nauseating. I wonder if she’ll still be smiling once she hears the truth.”
Tracy was the one who had been officially notified about the signing. Yvonne was just acting on her own assumptions. She hadn’t received any notification at all; she was essentially a gatecrasher.
Tracy shrugged. “Let her have it. She’s always loved being the center of attention. Let her enjoy it while it lasts. She’ll be crying soon enough.”
Sure enough, as Yvonne reached out to take the contract from Waylon, he pulled it back.

Waylon looked her dead in the eye, his voice flat and professional. “You aren’t the person we’re signing with.”
The statement was like a bomb going off. The room went dead silent as everyone struggled to process what they had just heard.
“What’s going on? Waylon says they aren’t partnering with Yvonne? That makes no sense.”
“Exactly! We’ve invested so much money into their project. If this is a joke, it’s a sick one.”
“We put in a fortune too. We’ve supported them from day one. There can’t be a mistake now!”
“If they don’t sign, our money is gone. That investment was almost everything I own. I can’t lose it.”
Panic started to ripple through the crowd. Investors were looking at each other in disbelief, unable to accept what was happening.
ared stepped up onto the podium, forced a smile, and tried to keep his voice steady. “Mr. Waylon, you must be joking. You’re the one who told us to come for the signing. Why the sudden change of heart?”
Even though he was panicking inside, years in the business world had taught him how to keep a straight Face. He couldn’t afford to lose it now.
Chandler stepped up beside him, backing him up. “He’s right, Mr. Waylon. You told Yvonne to be here for he contract. The whole country is watching this live. This isn’t the kind of joke you should be making.”
Chandler was desperate. He had sunk half his net worth into the project early on. Later, after Yvonne talked im into it, he had thrown in the rest. He was all in.
