Chapter 299 The Performance
Susan sobbed harder, her shoulders shaking, but a smug look flashed in her eyes when no one was watching.
Leon was losing his mind lately trying to keep his projects afloat, and his attitude toward her had soured. She blamed Natalie for all of it. Ever since Natalie left, Bond Technologies had been in a downward spiral It was obvious Natalie was behind it. For a daughter of the Sand family, she certainly lacked any grace
The crowd’s murmurs grew louder, mostly accusing Natalie of being a homewrecker who burned bridges after getting what she wanted.
Natalie started to speak, but the elevator doors opened and Sam walked out. “What’s everyone doing here? Is the workday over already?”
The staff froze at the sound of their boss’s voice. “No, we’re leaving now!” they called out in unison. scurrying to their cars and clearing the garage as fast as they could.
Susan hadn’t expected the interruption. She looked at Sam in surprise. “Are you really going to protect Natalie so openly?”
She didn’t believe for a second that there was nothing going on between them. If he was stepping in like his, they had to be involved.
Sam let out a cold laugh. “Natalie is my employee. Someone is harassing her at her workplace; as her boss. why wouldn’t I step in?”
Susan was speechless.
Natalie’s phone buzzed with a notification. She checked it and looked at Sam. “Thanks for the help, Sam. 1 have to go, but I’ll buy you dinner another time.”
Susan lunged forward to grab Natalie’s arm. “Natalie, you haven’t promised to help us yet! You can’t leave!”
Let go!” Natalie tried to shake her off. “I’m not responsible for cleaning up your messes. When Leon was cheating on me with you, he should have known it would end like this.”
He thinks he’s so capable, doesn’t he? What happened? Did he finally realize he’s nothing without me?”
She had zero respect for Leon now. He was too cowardly to come and ask for help himself, so he sent his girlfriend to humiliate herself instead.
Susan refused to let go, acting like Natalie was her last hope. “I’m not letting go! Not until you agree to help
Leon!”
Sam stepped in and pulled Susan away. “You’re really going to try and extort my employee? You’re the mistress, yet you’re here calling her one? Have some shame.”
‘I don’t know what you see in a guy like Leon, a total fraud who can’t survive without a woman to back him up.”
‘Go back and tell Leon that I was the one who rejected the partnership. If he has a problem with it, he can

come see me directly.”
Finished
Sam finally understood why Natalie was so hesitant to reveal her identity as a shareholder. The Quinn family were parasites. Leon didn’t even have the guts to show his face; he just sent his mistress to scream in a parking garage.
Susan’s eyes flashed with resentment. She decided to let it go for today. She had achieved what she wanted even if it didn’t go perfectly, she had still managed to stir the pot. Besides, Natalie was already leaving, so there was no point in staying.
Before she could walk away, two security guards appeared and escorted her out. The anger in her eyes deepened. Natalie, after the way you embarrassed me today, just you wait. I’m going to make your life hell.
Once Susan was gone, Natalie finally got into her car. Her phone buzzed again. She hoped it was a message from Jackson, but it was just a news notification.
A wave of disappointment hit her, but she tried to tell herself he was probably just busy. She was about to pull out when her brother, Bryan, called.
‘Natalie, it’s our aunt’s birthday party tonight. I have your dress ready. Just get home as soon as you can.”
Natalie leaned back against her seat. “Fine. I’m on my way.”
She didn’t actually like this aunt. The woman was incredibly shallow. When the Sand family fell on hard times years ago, she had shut them out and acted like she didn’t even know them. Now that they were successful again, she was the first one in line to kiss up to them, making sure everyone knew she was a
Sand.
Natalie still remembered three years ago when she chose Leon and fought with her family. Her aunt had immediately tried to replace her by sending her own daughter to live with the Sands.
