Chapter 14: Freak
Jade’s pov
“You won’t be driving,” Alpha Dante said, taking away my car keys and throwing them to his henchman.
“Excuse me, who the hell do you think you are?” I asked him and he looked at me.
“I am your husband, or do you want to turn me into a widower so early?” He whispered.
“Yes, sister, you had a lot to drink last night. I bet your body is still feeling the repercussions. You can’t drive in that state you are in.” Jay said, and I just sighed.
“Fine,” I said and looked at my father and then everyone else.
“Is this really the last time you will be coming back here?” Aunt Emily asked me, and I nodded.
“Yes, this will be the last time I am setting foot in this coven.” I said, and my eyes landed on my mother. Her face was blank as usual. I didn’t expect any reaction from her.
“Goodbye, everyone,” I said, and walked off.
“I really think that you shouldn’t be cutting off your family like that. I know what they did wasn’t really good, but breaking ties with them in such a manner isn’t right.” Alpha Dante said. I turned around and looked at
him.
“Do not tell me how to handle my relationships, Alpha. I will remind you that you and I are husband and wife only on paper. It will do you good to remember that and mind your own business.” I said firmly.
“You will not talk to my husband like that. Where are your manners, Jade?” Sasha asked me.
“Manners? You want to talk about manners? Then teach them to your mate.” I said, and then walked to the
car.
“Enough, Jade, when we get to the pack, I don’t want you to act like this.” Sasha said, walking to me. “You will behave. As the Luna of that pack, I don’t want any problems.”
I rolled my eyes at this. “You should have thought about that before opening your mouth and handing me
over to your mate.”
“I don’t expect you to understand what I did or the reasons I did it. All I am asking is that you do not disrespect my mate.” Sasha said, and I looked at Alpha Dante. His eyes were on mine as if he were trying
to read me.
“Then tell your mate not to get all over my business.” I retorted, and she looked at me and sighed.
“Just try to get along. Dante is like you in this situation. He wanted nothing to do with this.” Sasha said
gently.
“Uncle and Mother, you can use that car, and I will use mine with Sasha and Jade. Felix will drive Jade’s car.” Alpha Dante informed everyone.

I wanted to say that I could ride with that Felix guy but didn’t think it would be a good idea.
I mean I did torture the man for a few seconds and didn’t even exchange a word with him.
Claim
I can’t ride with Mrs Odell because I just insulted her. So, do I ride with the guy I almost killed or my sister and her mate, who is also my husband?
How will I even survive the next couple of months?
“Sit in the passenger seat.” Sasha said, getting in the back of the car and sleeping on all the seats.
I got in the passenger seat and took out a book that I had been meaning to read.
Alpha Dante also got in and started driving.
“Come on, are you telling me that you guys are planning to sit in silence from here to the pack? That’s about 5 hours.” Sasha suddenly said in the back. We didn’t say anything, and I heard her sigh at that.
“Okay, I get it, okay. Jade, you didn’t want any of this, and you don’t believe in love at all. But you guys can
be friends,” she said.
“Dante, I know that as a werewolf, the thought of being with another woman that isn’t me must be uncomfortable for you. Especially since the woman is also my sister, but wouldn’t everything be easier if you didn’t hate each other’s guts?” She asked again.
Alpha Dante looked at me, and I went back to reading my book.
I closed my eyes, hoping that it would stop the terrible headache that I had.
“Are you okay?” Alpha Dante asked me, and I nodded.
“I am okay,” I answered.
“No, you are not. Why did you drink? You were so drunk last night.” Sasha said, shaking her head.
“I am an adult, I don’t owe anyone an explanation.” I said, and she just shook her head.
“You are saying that because you don’t remember the things you did last night,” Sasha retorted.
I froze for a second and then looked outside. “What of it? It’s not like something special happened.”
“So you don’t remember anything at all? Nothing?” Alpha Dante suddenly asked, and I looked at him
confused.
“What? Is there something worth remembering?” I asked him, and he just smiled and shrugged.
“How would I know?” He asked me and then focused on the road ahead.
“Since we didn’t have breakfast, we will stop somewhere along the road so you can all grab something to eat.” Alpha Dante said changing the topic which I was grateful for.
“Yes, I am starving.” Sasha said.
The two kept chatting on the way while I was busy focusing on my book with headphones on.
The car stopped, and I looked up and realized that we were near a supermarket.
We all got out of the car and the moment I got inside, I headed to the fridges and started looking for ice
cream.
I was about to grab the last caramel flavor when a pair of hands grabbed it before me.
I looked at the thief, and it was Alpha Dante.
“I saw that one first,” I said, and he just shrugged.
“I grabbed it first, finders keepers.” He said with a smile.
“Finders keepers, how old are you?” I asked him and he just shrugged.
“Well, and here I was thinking that I would give you the ice cream.” He said, and I smiled a bit.
“I was just kidding, you are a very mature and handsome man. Now give me the ice cream.” I said, and he
shook his head.
“No, there are other flavors here. Take one of those.” He said, and I sighed.
“I only eat caramel, I need the caramel flavor.” I said, and he just shrugged.
“You won’t die if you don’t eat it. And why should I give you mine? You said it yourself that we are only husband and wife only on paper. Had you been my actual wife, then I would have happily made this sacrifice for you.” He said, and then walked away.
“Why are you doing this?” I asked him, and he looked at me confused. “You don’t even have a sweet tooth. You said it yourself last night when I offered you that ice cream. Then why are you suddenly doing this?”
I watched how his face went from a smile to a full-blown smirk. “I thought you didn’t remember.”
His gray eyes were scanning my face, trying to gauge every reaction.
“I only remember that part. It’s not vivid, but I remember a little.” I tried to save myself, and he chuckled at
this.
“How convenient for you, Jade. You remember the one thing that could get you this ice cream, but don’t remember other things that could get you in trouble.” He said, and I scoffed.
“I did nothing that could get me in trouble.” I argued and he shook his head.
“You kissed me, Jade, do you remember that?” He asked me.
“I did no such thing.” I said and then just took any flavor I could find and stormed off.
“Do you really not have any other caramel flavors?” I asked the cashier before paying.
“Yes, ma’am, someone called this morning and bought all of them. Only left one.” She answered, and I
nodded.
What the hell, why that flavor and not other flavors?

“I am here to collect my order. I bought the caramel ice cream that was in the shop.” I heard Alpha Dante
say to the other cashier.
I turned around to look at him, and he had a smirk on his face.
He was already eating the last caramel ice cream.
So he is the freak who bought all the ice cream, but why?

A little update on the job, it was terrible and i hated every minute of it. So i quit, i will write an extra chapter somewhere during the week or the weekend to make up for the day i missed. Hope you enjoy the chapter and see you on the next update
