Chapter 149: Remember

Jade’s pov

I looked at her as she stared at me with confusion and anger on her face.

Uncle went inside and I felt this burning rage inside me.

“How can you even think such vile things?” I asked her and watched as she scoffed.

“What vile things? You said it yourself that it might be a family member,” she said, and I

nodded at this.

“Might, that was just the worst case scenario. I tried to think about it, but even suspecting any of them felt wrong,” I said, and then sighed.

“But you, you had the guts to stand here and say all those vile things to our uncle,” I retorted, and she rolled her eyes.

“He always cared about you more than anyone else. Even gave you a little nickname,” she said with a smile.

“Who else am I supposed to suspect? If it isn’t him, then who else is it?” she asked me.

I looked at her and I couldn’t see any remorse in her eyes.

She just insulted our uncle, who basically raised the two of us.

I looked at her and I couldn’t see even a little kindness in her eyes.

I will admit that most of the time her kindness was fake, especially towards me.

But I believed, I believed it because I could see a little kindness in her eyes.

She may not have cared about me, but she cared about others.

“He once called me vile, he stood up for you like I wasn’t family. He was always there for you when you needed him,” she said, and I looked at her.

It’s like she started losing her mind and even herself.

“Don’t you remember?” I asked her and she looked at me confused.

“Remember what?” she asked me, and I found myself standing there speechless.

Is this what happens when someone makes themselves a victim for too long?

Plus, we need to be certain and have solid proof.

Otherwise, an innocent person could die.

I had my family write down who they think it could be from our coven and why they thought

I mean, I had my fair share of admirers when I was young.

And whoever that person was, they could have managed to downplay everything.

But one thing is certain, it’s a person from our coven.

I think we were thinking about it all wrong.

I thought that maybe spending time with me was what that person needed to regain their

memories.

But what is it, it isn’t like that?

Dante and I have spent a long time together and yet we haven’t regained our memories.

What if all that person needed was a mere second with me?

Just one look at me helped them regain their memory.

It could be anyone, so the more suspects we have, the better.

I looked around, and everyone finished up writing and handed it to me.

I went and sat down and read everything, and they all had valid suspects and valid reasons.

And luckily for me, the people they wrote about are close enough to be invited to the event tonight.

Dante walked in and he had a smile on his face.

“The fish took the bait,” he said, and I sighed as I looked at everything in front of me.

“Yes, the fish has taken the bait, but there is still the mystery about the madman. I have been thinking about it, I can’t think of anyone who would be this person,” I said, and Dante sighed

and sat next to me.

He held my hand, “You have everyone you love here,” he said, and I nodded.

But what if I am wrong? I bought them here so I could protect them. But what if I can’t protect them?” I asked him.

“I am here, everything will be fine,” Dante assured me.

There was a knock on the door, and Addison walked in.

I looked at her, and she had a paper in her hand.

She handed it to me, and I read the name on it and looked at her.

She is joking, right?

She can’t be serious now, can she?
