Chapter 213

Chapter 213

Ever since Nicolas found out about Nicole’s feelings for him and how she just wouldn’t leave him alone, he started to realize she wasn’t the simple, sweet girl he thought she was.

‘Nicole really isn’t as naive as I used to believe, Nicolas thought to himself.

This whole incident just proved that Nicole wasn’t just not innocent-she actually knew how to play the game.

Nicolas had even tested the lie detector himself-it worked just fine.

Nicole was just using the lie detector as an excuse.

After all, she was always going on about wanting to be super close with Alicia, saying how much she liked having her as a big sis.

Nicolas let out a long breath and said to Alicia, “I’m sorry. I really got you wrong before.”

Back then, everyone thought Alicia was too harsh, always seemed to be picking on Nicole, who looked so delicate and helpless.

With Alicia being the strong one and Nicole the weak one, people naturally felt sorry for the weaker side.

They’d even had arguments and stopped talking to each other for a while because of it.

Now, he finally realized he’d been so blind all this time.

He finally got why Alicia had to break things off with them

They’d been getting her wrong for ages.

Alicia’s voice was icy as she said, “I don’t accept your apology.”

Nicolas’s expression darkened. Her words made it clear-she wasn’t about to forgive him.

His heart clenched, a bitter ache spreading inside. ‘Guess I really messed up this time,’ he thought.

Having grown up with Alicia, Nicolas knew her all too well-she was always clear about who she cared for and who she didn’t.

Her attitude said it all-she was cutting him off for good, drawing a line that couldn’t be crossed.

His heart clenched painfully, and then it felt like he couldn’t breathe.

‘Is this really it? Am I just going to lose her for good?’ Nicolas thought, panic rising in his chest. ‘I don’t want this. I can’t accept it!’

Caleb wasn’t feeling any better than Nicolas.

He’d spent way more time around Nicole than Nicolas ever did, so he always thought of her as this fragile little flower who needed them to look out for her.

She just seemed so innocent and soft-hearted that people would just walk all over her.

But now, Nicole had completely turned his whole perception upside down.

Hearing Alicia’s sarcastic words, Caleb’s feelings were all over the place-he just felt awful inside.

He’d been about to apologize too, but Nicolas got there first.

But he never expected Alicia to turn him down flat like that.

‘So what about me?

‘We’re siblings. Will she ever forgive me?’ he thought, his heart aching.

He really had misjudged her before-it was all his fault, and he couldn’t help but feel guilty

about it.

So Caleb looked at Alicia and said, “Ally, I’m really sorry. We were wrong to doubt you.

“I just hope now that everything’s out in the open, we can be close again.”

Alicia’s eyes were full of indifference, her tone even frostier than before. “I don’t accept it. I won’t forgive you.”

In her heart, her third brother Caleb had always been more important to her than Nicolas.

So when he hurt her, the pain went even deeper-there was no way she could ever forgive

him.

Caleb’s eyes rimmed with tears. “I’ll try my best to earn your forgiveness.”

Even though he used to look out for Nicole, deep down, his little sister Alicia was always the one who mattered most to him.

Now that he knew he’d been wrong about her, the last thing he wanted was for them to really end up as strangers.

Alicia just scoffed, her voice icy. “Don’t bother trying. You’re just wasting your time.”

Just then, Jett glanced at Nicolas and Caleb and said, “Aren’t you guys going to go cheer up

Nic? She’s bawling her eyes out this time, and you two are the only ones who can handle that.”

Nicolas and Caleb exchanged glances, at a total loss for words.

‘This idiot always manages to bring up the most awkward stuff, they both thought.

There was no way they were going to comfort Nicole again-her crying this time was completely out of line.

After all this drama, they really needed to cool off and figure out what to do about Nicole

next.

Nicolas gave Jett a frosty glance. “Knock yourself out. This is all yours.”

Jett just shrugged. “I’d love to help, but it wouldn’t make a difference if I went. Only you two can actually calm her down.”

He made a mock ‘after you’ gesture. “So, go on, you two.”

Landon added, “Come on, you guys always had Nicole’s back before. Don’t switch sides now, or you’ll just end up looking bad.”

Nicolas snorted. “Why don’t you mind your own business?”

Those two were just dying to see them and Alicia go at it again. Seriously, they were the

worst.

Jett just grinned. “Yeah, I told you before-I’m basically the king of minding other people’s business. What, did you forget already?”

He kept egging them on, “Go on, hurry up! If you don’t, Nicole’s gonna bawl her eyes out and end up with a face full of puffy tears.”
