Chapter 10
He sat beside Olivia’s body for days. Many people came to persuade him, but none succeeded.
Everyone thought Ethan was so devastated because of his deep feelings for Olivia, because of their childhood connection.
He ignored the company. Project contracts sat untouched for a long time.
His mother came to reason with him at first, but when she saw how stubborn he was, she left in anger.
Later, rumors spread that Ethan had a child with another woman. His mother brought that child into the Pierce

Ethan finally moved the day Olivia’s body started to decompose.
He stumbled out of the room, retching.
His voice was barely audible as he muttered.
Tell me. Where did Vivian go?”
“Tell mer
Someone carefully helped him back to his room. Halfway there, they pushed him into a well.
The well wasn’t deep, but the opening was sealed from the outside.
Ethan starved to death.
No one in the Pierce family made much of his disappearance. His mother had the child from outside placed in his

When the system sent me home, I was happy to enjoy everything.
Aside from the occasional nightmare that made me feel for a moment like I was still trapped in that awful place.

I found his words sickening. I pushed him away with all my strength.
“Ethan, have you lost your mind?”
“Before, and now, all I ever wanted was for you to die.”
He seemed stunned that I could say something so harsh.
I also noticed that on this bridge during rush hour, no one seemed to notice the two of us.
The next second, I saw that Ethan’s body was becoming translucent.
“Vivian, please. Let me stay. Let me be with you.”
I stepped back again.
“What did you do to yourself?”
He smiled bitterly and looked at his own hands.
“I traded the Pierce family’s fortune to see you again. Whatever it cost.”
I took a deep breath and called him a madman,
“Ethan, get out of my life,”
He kept backing away. He didn’t realize the railing was behind him.
When he fell, I stood on the bridge and watched him coldly.
He vanished before he hit the water,
I thought I heard him call my name, I turned on the music on my phone and connected it to my headphones.
It was another clear, beautiful day,
