Chapter 82

Today was the event Marcus had mentioned earlier, and honestly, Elara was feeling so hyped about it.
The dress had arrived yesterday in a huge white box tied with a black ribbon, delivered by a courier who’d treated it like it contained the crown jewels. When Elara had opened it, she’d actually gasped out loud. Marcus’s taste was impeccable, better than she’d given him credit for. The man knew exactly what would look good on her body.
Now Mimi was here, sitting cross-legged on Elara’s bed while working on her makeup. Apparently Dante was also attending the event and had decided to take Mimi as his plus one, which meant they were all going together.
“So,” Elara said, trying to sit still while Mimi worked on her eyes, “how’s your relationship going with Dante?”
Mimi’s face lit up immediately, that telltale glow of someone falling hard and fast. “Honestly, I can’t lie, it’s been really good. We text every single day, like constantly. And yesterday he told me he really likes me and wants us to be official.”
Elara squealed, the sound making Mimi’s hand slip slightly with the eyeliner. “Damn, girl! I’m really happy for you. That’s amazing.”
“I know, right? Like, I wasn’t expecting it to get this serious this fast, but here we are.” Mimi went back to working on the eyeliner with practiced precision. “He’s taking me to meet his parents next week.”
“Next week? Mimi, it’s been like five days.”
“I know! But when you know, you know. Plus, his parents are apparently really chill. They’re not like those stuffy rich people who look down on everyone.”
They talked while Mimi finished Elara’s makeup, creating a look that was glamorous but not overdone. Smokey eyes with gold accents that brought out the warmth in her skin. Nude lips with just a hint of gloss. Contour that made her bone structure look even more defined.
When Mimi was done with Elara, she started on her own makeup while Elara began the process of getting dressed. The gown required careful maneuvering, and she had to be gentle with the delicate fabric.
The dress was champagne-colored silk that caught the light beautifully, covered in intricate beading from top to bottom. It had a deep V-neckline that plunged daringly, held up by thin spaghetti straps that looked almost too delicate to support the weight of all that beading. The bodice hugged her curves perfectly, cinched at the waist before flowing down in a fitted silhouette. And there was a thigh-high slit on the left side that went almost indecently high, showing off her leg with every step.
It was the kind of dress that cost more than most people’s cars. The kind of dress that announced you’d arrived.
It took them an extra hour before they were both completely ready. When they finally walked down the stairs together, the boys were already dressed and waiting in the living room, playing on the PS5 like they had all the time in the world.
Marcus saw her first. His hands froze on the controller mid-game, and his expression shifted into something Elara couldn’t quite read. Awe, maybe. Hunger, definitely.

“Oh my goodness gracious,” he breathed, standing up immediately and walking toward the stairs. “You’re stunning, El.”
He met her at the bottom step, taking her hand to help her down the last few stairs even though she didn’t need the help. His eyes traveled over her slowly, taking in every detail of the dress, the way it hugged her body, the slit that showed off her leg.
“You look incredible,” he said again, quieter this time.
“You don’t look so bad yourself.”
Marcus was wearing a black tuxedo that fit him like it had been made specifically for his body, which it probably had been. The jacket emphasized his broad shoulders, and the crisp white shirt underneath made his skin look even more striking. He’d styled his hair in those loose curls that made him look slightly less intimidating, more approachable.
Dante wolf-whistled from the couch. “Damn, you two clean up nice. Meanwhile, look at my date over here looking like a whole goddess.”
Mimi had chosen a deep emerald green dress that complemented her skin beautifully. It was form-fitting with long sleeves and a modest neckline, elegant without trying too hard.
“You look amazing, babe,” Dante said, standing to kiss her cheek.
They all headed outside, and immediately a debate started about which car to take. Marcus wanted to drive his Aston Martin. Elara suggested her new Mercedes. Dante argued that his Range Rover had the
most space.
“I’ll drive,” Dante finally said with finality. “My car, my rules.”
Nobody argued. They all climbed into the Range Rover, Mimi sliding into the front passenger seat while Marcus and Elara settled into the back. The leather seats were soft and comfortable, and the car still had that new car smell even though Dante had owned it for over a year.
The drive was peaceful. Dante had put on some smooth R&B, the kind of music that played low in the background without demanding attention. Up front, Mimi and Dante were in their own world, fingers laced together on the center console, occasionally glancing at each other and smiling like they shared some private joke.
In the back, Marcus’s hand found Elara’s lap. His fingers rested on her thigh, right where the slit in her dress exposed her skin. The touch was warm, possessive, sending little sparks of electricity through her body.
Then his hand started moving. Slowly, deliberately, his fingers traced higher up her thigh, following the line of the slit. Higher and higher, until he was dangerously close to touching her pussy.
Elara’s breath caught. She glanced at the front seat, but Mimi and Dante were completely absorbed in each other, not paying any attention to what was happening in the back.
Marcus leaned in close to her ear, his breath hot against her skin. “Let’s fuck tonight when we get home,” he whispered.
Heat flooded through Elara’s entire body. She felt her pussy compress, that familiar ache building between

her legs. She turned her head slightly, her lips brushing against his car as she whispered back.
“You make me so wet. Will you eat me out tonight?”
Marcus’s fingers tightened on her thigh. He nodded, his eyes dark with promise.
They both smiled, settling back into their seats but keeping their hands connected. The sexual tension in the back of that car was thick enough to cut with a knife, but neither of them said anything else. Just sat there with Marcus’s hand on her thigh and Elara’s mind racing with thoughts of what would happen later.
The Range Rover slowed as they approached their destination. Dante pulled up to a massive building, all glass and modern architecture with valet attendants already rushing forward to open doors.
The event was about to begin.
