Chapter 3
My refusal completely tore away the final mask of the Vance family.
“You ungrateful waste! Since you’re looking for death, I’ll grant it to you!”
Arthur Vance roared sharply, waving his hand violently toward the elite guards behind him. “Tie her up! Take her
directly to the Citadel!”
Several guards rushed forward like wolves. Ignoring my paralyzed legs, they roughly grabbed my collar and yanked me
straight out of my wheelchair.
“Thud!”
Losing the support of my legs, I slammed heavily into the mud filled with strong alkaline wastewater.
Sharp scrap metal sliced my arm, and blood flowed into the sewage on the ground.
But I gritted my teeth and stared deathly at Arthur and Eleanor Vance, without letting out even a single groan.
“Quick! Get her into a hazmat suit!” Eleanor urged anxiously from the side, terrified of delaying the rescue of her precious
youngest daughter.
The guards brought over an old model hazmat suit that bad boon decommissioned for over a decade, its surface covered
in cracks and leaking in multiple places. Auto-added to the Library
Without a word, they dragged me up from the muddy water and forced me into that tattered suit-which was
completely incapable of resisting high radiation-like stuffing a piece of scrap cloth.
“Bind her to the wheelchair! Don’t let her escape!”
Caleb Thorne walked over personally, dragging a heavy hyper-alloy chain.
He knelt down and wrapped the chain around my waist circle after circle, binding me and the wheelchair together.
Finally, he took out a heavy-duty combination lock. With a “click,” he completely sealed off my last retreat.
Through the damaged visor of the hazmat suit, Caleb’s cold face pressed close to mine.
“Celine, a waste like you who can’t even sense kinetic energy is just a waste of air in this world’
“Being able to die for Serene’s glory is the greatest blessing of your life.”
“Don’t worry, after you die, I will dump your ashes into the waste vats. You can rot with the rest of the sludge for all
eternity’
Under the fanatical gaze of millions across the entire network. I was forcibly pushed by the guards out of the

decontamination unit and all the way toward the sector’s Omega Breach.
The massive blast doors ahead rose slowly. Outside was a visible, terrifying purple vortex of high-concentration radiation.
Wild winds swirled with lethal radioactive dust, slapping against my broken visor like knives and emitting a suffocating
howl
“Say hi to hell for me!”
A guard gave the wheelchair a violent shove, and I slid down the ramp directly toward that terrifying purple light.
A second before the wheelchair slid into the radiation zone, I turned my head back.
Within the safe zone, my biological parents, Arthur and Eleanor Vance, along with my ex-husband, Caleb Thorne, were
waving at the broadcast camera.
Their faces showed only excitement, without a single trace of regret or apology.
In this moment, I became completely immune to that bizarre “Chronos Correction” of the original plot. The last faint
bond of blood in my heart shattered instantly, turning into dust.
I turned my head back toward the lethal glare of the radiation, a bloodthirsty sneer curling at the corner of my mouth.
Did you really think I was certain to die?
