Serene’s head rolled to the side, her single eye still filled with endless terror and a desperate lingering attachment to this

“It’s over.” Kaelen said softly in my ear. 

“No. it’s just the beginning.” I gripped his hand back, our fingers tightly interlaced. 

I took a deep breath, feeling the air of this reborn world. 

I had finally succeeded in shattering the death-trap set by the system and severing all the distorted bonds forced upon 

me by the original plot. I had trampled those high-and-mighty scumbags into the rot. 

From now on, I will never be anyone’s stepping stone or a sacrifice for 

any 

narrative.
