Chapter 182 George Gets What He Deserves

“Really?” Wendy smiled like she always did and praised her. “Maya is the bravest girl in the world.”

Maya felt shy at once. She buried her face in Wendy’s arms.

Everyone in the family, except Maya, was used to dealing with the police.

None of them wanted to answer questions from special forces or any special units. So that very night, they called a moving company and packed up everything.

Maya and Alfred, the youngest, leaned against each other in the car and fell into a deep sleep.

Their new home was in an upscale neighborhood.

The people who lived there were either successful business owners or wealthy officials.

Wendy stood at the front door, directing people as they carried things in and out.

When Maya woke up, she stood in the yard, a little dazed. She looked at the new house. It was bigger than the last one. It didn’t feel real yet.

A voice called out, “Are you new here?”

Maya turned her head. A well-dressed, elegant woman stood by the fence, smiling and waving

at her.

Maya nodded.

The woman looked her over, then glanced at the busy yard. She smiled again. “Sweetie, you can come play at my place anytime. We have kids too. We live right next door.”

She pointed toward a nearby row of villas, showing Maya the way.

Maya nodded. “Okay, I got it.”

The woman smiled and walked away.

The house had been renovated for some time and left empty. They could move in right away. Once everything was arranged, they finally finished before sunset.

Wendy finally had time to settle a score with George.

In the living room, Maya watched like it was a show.

Wendy grabbed George by the ear. Her face was cold. “I told you to go to school and study. Who told you to blow up the school? Do you know how much that could scar your sister? George Clark?”

Hearing his full name, George panicked. He quickly explained, “Actually, she’s really brave! She even kicked my teammate and broke their bones. Maya is like an Amazon warrior!”

“You dare to make things up about your sister?” Wendy’s brows shot up. Her voice dropped again. “Do you want me to beat you to death?”

“Mom, using this will hurt more,” Toby said, taking the chance to add fuel to the fire. He handed over a belt with a sincere look. “Please, go all out on him.”

As long as he could watch George get beaten up by his mom, then everything between them could be forgiven.

From that moment on, he’d laugh it off with George like nothing ever happened.

George turned his head, eyes wide in shock. When he saw the belt, he cried out in pain, “Don’t think something is okay just because the punishment isn’t too harsh, Toby!

“You pull this on me today. The next time you’re in trouble, don’t expect me to help you!”

He threw out that threat in anger.

The next second, the belt in Wendy’s hand cut through the air with a sharp crack.

Two quick strikes landed, spinning all around George.

“Come here.”

After a few hard hits, Wendy tossed the belt aside. She walked toward her son step by step, her gentle expression looked even scarier.

“I’ll stop using the belt for now. Show me what you’ve learned all these years.”

George froze.

Honestly, getting hit with the belt would’ve been better.

He was just about to act spoiled and grab her leg, pretending to cry a little. Wendy was already in front of him. Her right hand shot out fast, going straight for his collar.

George’s pupils shrank.

By pure instinct, his body bent backward in a sharp arch, barely dodging the grab.

In the next instant, a fierce kick swept past his face.

If that had landed, his neck would’ve snapped.

George steadied his breathing. He tilted his head to dodge, then stepped back quickly, putting space between them.

Wendy missed twice. Decorations in the living room shattered all over the floor, yet she kept moving at a calm, steady pace.

Her figure vanished for a split second.

In the blink of an eye, she closed the distance again. Her right hand curled into a fist and punched straight at his face.

This time, George couldn’t dodge.

The punch hit hard and sent him flying right out of the house, crashing onto the ground.

Maya thought good thing there’s a lawn outside. Otherwise, that hit might’ve seriously messed him up.

George clearly took the fall badly.

He lay face-down on the ground. His head buzzed and spinning. His pretty amber eyes were hard to focus.

“Mom, you’re amazing.”

To be fair, George’s reaction speed was impressive. His dodging skills were almost perfect— bending back, twisting, stepping away-all in just a second.

But Wendy’s speed was beyond logic.

Maya just stared, completely stunned.
