Kara was so choked up, but she couldn’t shed a tear. She raised her head and said softly. “If Finn knows about it, he’ll kill me.” Marina ruffled her hair and sighed helplessly. “Come on, it’s not that bad,” she said.

Marina was stunned. The Gross family was known for being upright. Even though they all spoiled Kara, there was no way they would let her break any of their rules.
‘No wonder Kara is so distressed, Marina thought. She fixed her with a serious stare.
She and Kara had been close friends for many years, and right now, there was no way Marina could play the moral police with her like some outsider.
“Seriously, what were you thinking?” Marina said, sounding upset. ‘Getting involved with a guy who’s already taken? That never ends well, Marina thought.
Kara was so choked up but couldn’t shed a tear. “I didn’t know at first; I only found out recently. And that night was an accident. Someone totally set me up and made sure I ended up in his bed,” Kara explained.
Marina’s heart skipped a beat. She never expected Kara to be taken advantage of out there. “And him…” she asked.
He didn’t mean for it to happen either. That night, we were both set up,” Kara said.
Marina’s expression grew serious. At this juncture, there was no point in trying to figure out what really happened that night anymore. It was too late,
‘So, what’s your plan now? Things have gotten this far; you must have some idea of what you want to do, right?” Marina asked.
Kara bit her lip, looked at Marina, and said softly, her voice barely above a murmur, with a hint of guilt. “Honestly, the very first moment I realized I might be pregnant, I actually considered keeping the baby.
‘After all, he’s really good–looking, so at least my kid will turn out good–looking for sure,” she said.
‘Moreover, I’m not really into marriage, so… I was thinking about just raising the kid on my own, without a father,” she added.
Marina listened to Kara and fell silent for a long while. ‘No wonder Kara’s so terrified Finn will come down on her. Her idea really is way too bold, Marina thought.
If your parents and Finn find out you’re pregnant, no way they’ll just let it go. They’ll track that guy down and hold him accountable, Marina said.
The Gross family has protected their youngest daughter for so many years, and now she has been taken advantage of and ended up pregnant. No family would just let something like that slide, Marina thought.
Kara bit her lip and fell silent. She couldn’t just vanish for a year and then come back with a baby in her arms. Her parents would be devastated,
Marina, rubbing her glabella, asked, ‘Who is that guy?
Kara bit her lip. “It’s really not something I should tell.”
Marina frowned and asked, “Is he in politics?”

Kara nodded, then pointed up toward the ceiling “He’s the top guy’s son, the whispered.
Marina’s eyes flashed with a complicated emotion, and she gasped. He’s not just anybody, he’s the crown prince, the big bow’s son.
No way the Gross family could afford to mess with someone like him. Honestly, no family in the whole country would ever dare go up against him, Marina thought.
Marina rubbed her glabella; her head started to ache. And Kara actually had the guts to think about going solo as a mergers even with a guy that powerful, she thought in disbelief.
“You’re outrageously daring.” Marina said, rubbing her glabella. “So what’s this about him wanting to snitch to Finn
Kara bit her lip and mumbled, “He thinks I set him up. I got so mad, and I threw 400 dollars at him to humiliate him
Marina was speechless. The Gross family had been making waves lately, so it didn’t surprise Marina that Kara would end up getting involved with those kinds of people.
But given her straightforward personality, she was bound to be taken advantage of when mixing with people from that
circle.
Marina had seen that guy from afar before. Honestly, he was handsome, but with a cold, intimidating edge. He was definitely the no–nonsense type.
Even Daron freaked Kara out. With a guy like that, Kara would probably be even more intimidated, let alone take the initiative to throw herself at him.
Marina mulled it over for a while, realizing this whole thing wasn’t as simple as it looked. It was pretty obvious someone was deliberately targeting the Gross family and trying to drag that guy down with them.
Fortunately, Kara was so freaked out by him that she kept silent about the whole thing. If she hadn’t, both the Gross family and that guy would have been caught up in the mess.
