Chapter 566

Elara whipped out her phone and said sternly, “I’ll check for you right now.

“Let’s see if Albert’s really out there playing the hero again.”

She spoke, anger written all over her face.

Elnora spoke in a level voice, “When Albert was making that call, I heard him ask if anyone else was hurt.

“So I just want to know if there was some kind of safety incident at the company. I’m not really concerned about whether he was out there trying to play the hero.”

Elara looked up at Elnora, shooting her a glance.

After Elnora finished speaking, she quietly continued eating.

Elara pressed her lips together.

Elnora had always been the type to say as little as possible.

But she’d just said so much, which only showed she actually cared about this.

She was just hiding behind the company excuse.

Elara let out a soft sigh and didn’t call her out.

Elara had been by Elnora’s side for years, so she knew exactly how Elnora ticked.

Elnora always managed to keep her cool, no matter what.

So nobody ever noticed how much she actually cared.

‘I’ll check right now,” Elara said.

Elnora nodded.

Elara immediately called a colleague from the CEO’s office.

The colleague from the CEO’s office immediately filled Elara in on everything that had happened at the office that morning.

The colleague said, “There was an accident.

“The flying rig snapped unexpectedly.

“Besides Arnetta, some of the staff on site also sustained varying degrees of injury.

“One person was knocked out cold right then and there. We’re still not sure about their current condition.”

Elara pressed her lips together, resigned, and followed Elnora over.

Elnora was still in her hospital gown. When Albert brought her in, she was wearing pajamas, and Elara had forgotten to bring her any clothes, so she could only wear the hospital gown.

As she walked over, the Supernova Entertainment staff spotted her and immediately greeted her.

“Ms. Finley,” one of them called out.

“Ms. Finley…” another added.

When everyone saw her in that hospital gown, their faces showed clear surprise.

Albert heard someone call out and turned to look at Elnora.

Seeing her walk over, he frowned slightly and spoke calmly, “Why aren’t you resting in your room? What are you doing down here?”

She was just wearing a thin hospital gown, and the weather wasn’t warm at all today.

Albert thought, ‘If she caught a chill, her cold would only get worse. Who knows how bad her cough might get?’

Elnora spoke in a steady, almost indifferent tone, “I heard there was an accident, and since you’re all here, I came over to see how everyone’s doing.

“Is anyone seriously hurt?”

Albert said, “One of the staff is still being treated in the ER.”

Elnora furrowed her brows and asked in a steady voice, “Has the cause of the accident been investigated?”

Right then, Arnetta’s face grew uneasy.

Albert’s voice was cold. “We’re still looking into it.”

Elnora nodded, remaining silent.

Arnetta bit her lip and apologized, “I’m sorry, Ms. Finley. My assistant acted recklessly, and that’s what caused

all this.

“I’ll take full responsibility for it.”

Elnora frowned.

Albert’s expression turned icy as he shot Arnetta a cold look.

Elnora stayed silent, but one glance at Albert told her he was ready to cover for Arnetta.

Elara frowned at Arnetta, watching her act all sweet and innocent, like she was some kind of angel. It just made Elara’s blood boil.

Elnora didn’t even bother looking at Arnetta.

Instead, she said to Albert in a cool tone, “Since the investigation’s still ongoing, I’ll leave it to you, Mr. Campbell.

“I haven’t been feeling well lately, so I need to take some time off and recover at home.”

No one expected Elnora to handle things so coolly and with such class.

Albert looked up, his eyes lingering on Elnora, unreadable.

Elnora just gave a small nod, glanced at the others, and said in a calm voice, “Hope you all get better soon.”

With that, she turned and walked away.

Elara immediately followed right behind her.

Elnora took a few steps, but her cough wouldn’t let up.

Albert frowned and strode over.

Elara gently patted Elnora’s back, her tone laced with frustration as she spoke, “Elnora, I just don’t get it.

“Arnetta already took the blame. Why not press her a bit and give her a warning?”

Elnora’s voice was calm, completely devoid of emotion. “Didn’t you see that Mr. Campbell was obviously trying to cover for her?

“Since the investigation isn’t finished yet, we can’t just jump to conclusions.

“Besides, Mr. Campbell and I are partners. Why would I throw my own partner under the bus?

“It’s just another woman. Spending a bit of money on her doesn’t really matter.”

Albert had already taken off his suit jacket, ready to drape it over Elnora’s shoulders.

But he was caught off guard by her words.

He felt a mix of emotions well up inside him, unsettled and conflicted.

His face darkened as he stood there, eyes fixed on where Elnora had just walked away.

‘Partner?’ Albert thought with a hint of sarcasm. ‘It doesn’t really matter, huh?

‘My wife really is the coolest, most unbothered woman on the planet!’
