Albert kept thinking about her, wanting to come back early for her, and now look at the mess he’s in.

Albert took a deep breath, muttering to himself that he had it coming, then walked toward his office.

His expression was cold and distant, and he showed no sign of softening during the meeting.

The executives at Supernova Entertainment watched Albert’s mood closely, hardly daring to make a sound.

Elnora remained calm throughout the meeting. As it was winding down, she looked up at Albert and asked, “Mr. Campbell, do you have anything else to add?”

Albert sat in his chair, meeting Elnora’s gaze.

He didn’t answer right away, and the tension in the room grew thick.

The others kept their eyes down, not daring to say a word.

They’d heard this morning that Albert had gone to Elnora about Stella, and when he left her office, he looked so rattled that he could barely walk straight.

Now that the two of them were locked in a standoff, who would dare say a word?

Elnora waited for a moment, but when Albert still didn’t say anything, she spoke calmly.

“It seems you have nothing further to say, Mr. Campbell,” she said. “In that case, let’s adjourn the meeting.”

But after Elnora said that, none of the executives dared to get up and leave.

Everyone nervously kept their eyes on Albert, watching for his reaction.

Elnora, however, stood up from her seat and walked out of the conference room without another word.

Elara hurried after Elnora, arms full of files and documents.

She quickly caught up and asked, “Rumor has it you and Mr. Campbell were arguing in your office.”

Elara couldn’t remember ever seeing Elnora actually argue with anyone.

Elnora was always icy and unbothered. She’d just sit back and watch the other person blow up, then drop a few calm words that hit right where it hurt, as if it was nothing-watching them completely lose it.

Elnora shook her head.

“No,” she replied.

She wasn’t in the mood to argue with Albert.

“People always gossip and blow things out of proportion,” she said.

‘See? I knew it. Elnora would never actually get into a shouting match with Albert, Elara thought to herself. ‘It’s clear Albert just got himself all riled up and ended up losing his composure.

‘Seriously, Albert is making such a fuss over a small-time artist.

‘If he wanted to give her resources, he could’ve just done it quietly behind the scenes.

‘Instead, he insisted on bringing everything out in the open, which is basically humiliating Elnora in front of everyone.’

Elnora looked like she couldn’t care less and strode right into her office.

Albert remained seated in the conference room.

He watched Elnora leave, his brows furrowing unconsciously.

Seeing that the other executives were still sitting there, Albert let his expression soften and said in a flat tone, “Didn’t Ms. Finley just dismiss the meeting? What are you all still doing here?”

Only then did the others get up with awkward, embarrassed smiles.

Just as they were about to leave, Albert added in a flat tone, “Ms. Finley is running the show now. You’d better treat her words like gospel and follow her lead.”

Everyone’s faces shifted subtly at Albert’s words, a mix of awkwardness and uncertainty.

They stole a careful glance at him, but Albert just sat there stone-faced, giving nothing away.

But one thing was obvious.

He wasn’t being sarcastic.

No matter how strained things were between them behind closed doors, when it came to the company’s big decisions, they always stood together.

Once everyone had left the conference room, Albert finally got up from his chair and headed back to his office.

As he passed by Elnora’s office, he glanced inside.

Elara was reporting to Elnora.

Elnora sat in her chair, the sleeves of her white shirt casually rolled up, her gaze icy and detached as she listened to Elara, her face completely unreadable.

Albert paused and took a look inside.

Elnora noticed someone at the door, looked over, and said to Elara, “Why didn’t you close the door when you came in?”

Elara turned toward the doorway, saw Albert standing there, got the hint right away, and quickly went over to

close it.

As she shut the door, she shot Albert a quick smile. “Sorry about that, Mr. Campbell.”

Albert didn’t say a word.

Elara closed the door without hesitation.

Normally, when Elara came to report, it was just a quick update, and she usually left the door open.

Elnora had never minded it before.

After closing the door, Elara went right back to reporting to Elnora.

She wrapped things up in just a few words, then turned and walked out.

Elara opened the door to leave, only to find Albert still standing right outside Elnora’s office.

She blinked in surprise, then asked, “Looking for Ms. Finley, Mr. Campbell?”

Elara hesitated for a second, feeling a bit awkward, then quickly shuffled aside and pulled the door open wider to make way for Albert.

Elnora was completely absorbed in her work at the desk.

Albert, however, made no move to come in.

Elara couldn’t quite read Albert’s intentions. As she was about to withdraw her hand, Elnora spoke up in a chilly tone, “Close the door.”

Elara let out an awkward chuckle and closed the door to Elnora’s office.

“Sorry, Mr. Campbell,” she said with a sheepish smile.

Albert shifted his gaze to Elara, his tone chilly. “You closed that door so fast, it’s hard to tell if you’re actually sorry.”

Elara kept her professional smile in place.

“Just doing as Ms. Finley told me,” she replied. “If you need to see her, Mr. Campbell, feel free to go in.”

Albert just scoffed, clearly not about to give Elara a hard time. He walked off to his own office without another

word.

He really didn’t know what he’d even say to Elnora if he went in.

Work-wise, she kept everything running like a well-oiled machine.

Personal stuff? There wasn’t much connecting them anymore, anyway.

Albert took a deep breath, looking pretty grim.

He dropped into his chair, his head pounding with frustration.

After returning to Southview Residence last night, Albert barely got any sleep-he was restless all night, hoping to catch Elnora first thing in the morning.

He rubbed his brow, sat in his chair, and closed his eyes, hoping to catch a break.

He didn’t open his eyes until lunchtime.

He’d skipped breakfast that morning and was absolutely starving by lunchtime. As he got up to leave his office, he figured he might as well knock on Elnora’s door on his way out.

Elnora’s office stayed silent-no answer at all.

Albert finally pushed the door open, only to find the place completely empty.

His brows furrowed in confusion.

‘Maybe she went downstairs to check on the team?’ Albert wondered.

Albert closed the door, then glanced at the receptionist by the executive office and asked, “Where’s Ms. Finley?”

The receptionist didn’t hesitate. “The front desk just called. Ms. Finley has a friend from Vrufield who just arrived, so she went downstairs to greet them.”

‘A friend from Vrufield? And Elnora actually went downstairs to meet them herself?’ Albert thought.

He honestly couldn’t recall Elnora ever having any close friends from Vrufield.

Whenever Vrufield was mentioned, his mind flashed back to that night at the Finley family’s doorstep.

Albert’s face darkened in an instant. Without wasting a second, he marched over to the elevator and went straight downstairs.
