Chapter 587

Downstairs in the reception hall, Mila watched as Elnora stepped into the elevator, with Albert following closely behind, his face cold and unreadable.

Just as I thought, she mused. “There’s not a single man in this world who doesn’t care about his wife’s past relationships before marriage.

And now, Zack was even willing to give up the core project in Sograla City just to be with Elnora and get a divorce.

Albert must be bothered by it, Mila thought to herself.

Her marriage had become miserable because of Elnora.

Why should Elnora be the only one who gets away untouched?’ Mila thought bitterly.

It’s only fair if everyone’s marriage falls apart, not just mine, she told herself.

With a smile on her face, Mila turned and walked away.

ust then, a group of staff members burst out of the elevator.

They rushed toward the security room, their faces tense and urgent.

A flicker of confusion crossed Mila’s eyes, but she quickly turned her gaze away and kept walking.

Mila overheard someone whispering nearby. “Hot gossip! Ms. Finley just got kissed by Mr. Campbell in the elevator-totally out of nowhere!”

Mila’s face changed in an instant, and she stopped dead in her tracks.

she stood frozen in the hall, a flash of jealousy flickering in her eyes.

Things weren’t turning out the way Mila had hoped.

she’d expected Albert to have a huge fight with Elnora.

Or maybe, since they never really had feelings for each other, they’d just grow more distant.

Now, what’s that supposed to mean?’ Mila wondered, feeling lost.

Mila gritted her teeth and stormed off, determined not to hear another bit of gossip.

Meanwhile, as Elnora stepped out of the elevator, Albert followed right behind her.

He looked pretty interested in what kind of payback Elnora might have planned for him, so he asked, “Ms Finley, care to give me a hint? I’d like to know what I’m up against.”

‘Come on, Ms. Finley, give me a little heads-up. What are you planning next? So I can brace myself, Albert teased

Elnora gave him a cold stare, stayed silent, and just pushed open her office door and walked inside

As she was about to close the door, Albert reached out to stop it, grinning at her.

“Ms Finley, don’t be mad. If you want payback, just go for it. I won’t stop you,” Albert said with a playful grin

Or maybe you could force a kiss on me too? I wouldn’t mind,” he joked. “In fact, I’ll take the loss and let you do it twice

Elnora had never seen Albert act so shamelessly before, and her cheeks flushed with anger.

Albert thought her blushing face was hilarious and chuckled, dropping his hand from the door as he said, “Or how about three times?”

“Or how about three times?” he joked, still grinning.

Before he could finish, Elnora slammed the door right in his face, her expression cold as ice.

He heard the lock turn from inside a second later.

Albert wasn’t bothered in the slightest; an amused smile lingered on his face.

But when he smiled a bit too wide, it pulled at the wound on his lip, making him hiss and press a finger to the sore spot.

When Elnora bit down on him, she must’ve used all her strength.

He honestly thought she’d bitten right through his lip.

But the pain didn’t faze him; the smile never left his face as he walked back to his office.

Elara had just started at Supernova Entertainment, but she’d already gotten herself added to all the private staff chat groups.

In one of the private staff groups with over five hundred members, a video suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

Elara was busy reviewing some data when the colleague next to her suddenly blurted out a curse. “Holy crap!”

Elara flinched when she heard the curse.

To her, everyone in the CEO’s office at Supernova Entertainment was always super professional and full of energy.

Swearing was almost unheard of among them.

Elara had been biting her tongue lately, doing her best to maintain her polished image and fit in with the rest.

But when she heard that curse, Elara immediately craned her neck, leaning in to see what was up.

What happened?” she asked.

The colleague next to her quickly turned to Elara. “Something huge just went down! Check the big group chat now!

Elara braced herself and quickly jumped into the main staff group chat.

When she saw it was a surveillance video, a sense of dread crept over her.

Could it be a security breach?’ she wondered.

But after watching the entire video in silence, she sucked in a sharp breath.

This is a major scandal, she thought, her heart racing. Seriously, what is Albert even doing?!

If he can’t control himself, maybe he should just sew his lips shut!’ she snapped inwardly

PMM.

My boss isn’t untouchable anymore. Elara thought, feeling a wave of despair.

Elara was too shaken to stick around and chat. She shot up from her chair, not even bothering to join the discussion.

The colleague next to her reached out to stop her, asking, “Where are you headed?”

Elara looked over at Elnora’s office.

“Obviously, I’m going to go cheer up Ms. Finley,” she said.

Her coworker nodded, understanding, and let her go.

“Just tell Ms. Finley not to be upset. Honestly, it’s like… getting licked by a stray dog,” the colleague joked.

Elara pulled a disgusted face and muttered, “Yeah, and those dogs eat crap.”

The colleague hurried to clarify, “But Mr. Campbell doesn’t eat crap, so isn’t that a little less gross?”

‘Actually, that makes sense,’ Elara thought, nodding along in agreement.

“You’re right,” Elara said, nodding.

The colleague just smiled at her.

Elara walked up to Elnora’s office door and knocked.

“Come in,” came Elnora’s voice from inside.

Elara pushed the door open and walked in.

Elnora was at her desk, working just like any other day. Her face showed no real change, businesslike as ever.

But if you looked closer, there was still a hint of concern clouding her expression.

“Ms. Finley,” Elara said quietly as she walked over.

She leaned in, her voice barely above a whisper, “Are you alright?”

Elnora shook her head, her tone calm but a little distant. “I’m fine.”

Elara let out a quiet “oh,” feeling a bit relieved.

Looks like Ms. Finley isn’t bothered by any of this, Elara thought to herself.

Elnora looked up from her paperwork and gave Elara a quick glance. Seeing her hesitate, looking like she wanted to say something but couldn’t get it out, Elnora said calmly, “If you’ve got something to say, just spit it out.

Elnora absolutely hated it when people beat around the bush instead of just saying what was on their mind

Elara hesitated, then blurted out, “The elevator surveillance video of you and Mr. Campbell is spreading like wildfire in the company group chat.”

Elnora’s hand stilled, pen hovering above the paper. She grabbed her phone, ready to see for herself

Then Elara said, “It’s not the official company group. It’s a private chat that the stall set up themselves”
