Chapter 599

Elnora listened to Albert in silence, showing no reaction at all.

The elevator doors slid open.

Elnora was the first to step inside.

Albert watched her enter the elevator, took a deep breath, and spoke in a deep, serious tone, “Ms. Finley, did you hear what I said?”

Elnora turned, pressed the button for the underground garage, and nodded slightly. “I heard you,” she replied.

Seeing Elnora’s indifferent response, Albert took a deep breath, feeling a tightness in his chest.

He didn’t step into the elevator. Instead, he stood at the doorway, his eyes dark with frustration as he stared at Elnora, as if trying to let his feelings show.

Elnora’s face stayed blank as the elevator doors closed.

Albert watched the doors slide shut right in front of him, rubbing his brow. The sense of loss inside him felt magnified, making him feel even more miserable.

‘He realized any explanation was pointless, Albert thought to himself.

Elnora could not care less about his relationship with Stella.

Albert gave a bitter chuckle and turned away to leave.

Just then, the elevator doors slid open.

Albert paused mid-step.

He turned around to find Elnora standing at the elevator, her icy gaze locked onto him. She spoke in a flat, detached voice. “Aren’t you coming in?”

Albert couldn’t even find the words to describe how he felt right then.

The emptiness and disappointment he’d just been drowning in seemed to disappear in a heartbeat, as if his heart was suddenly whole again. Elnora’s voice sounded to him like a heavenly melody.

Without a second thought, he stepped into the elevator.

Once he was inside, Elnora reached up and pressed the close button.

Albert stood next to Elnora, a smile he couldn’t hold back spreading across his face.

“Honestly, I thought you’d leave without me, Ms. Finley,” he said.

Elnora didn’t respond, just stood silently off to the side.

…

He was about to say, “Let Stella take you out.”

But he caught himself just in time.

He just couldn’t bring himself to mention Stella in front of Elnora.

Elnora was already out of the elevator.

Kamron laughed on the other end of the line.

“Alright, since you two won’t treat me, I’ll treat you instead. I’ve already booked the place and sent you the address. Just come over whenever,” he said.

Albert grumbled under his breath and hung up.

Elnora stopped ahead and glanced back at Albert.

Albert shoved his phone away and said, a bit embarrassed, “It’s fine. We don’t have to treat him. Let’s just head back and eat with the family.”

Elnora replied coolly, “Go on.”

Albert froze.

“Are we going?” Elnora asked.

Elnora nodded slightly. “Mr. Nguyen is an investor, after all. Stella is one of Supernova’s artists. For an investor who doesn’t expect anything in return, we at Supernova should really roll out the red carpet for him.”

The Campbell driver pulled up in front of Elnora and stopped.

The driver opened the door, and Elnora ducked inside.

Albert stood where he was, gave Elnora a quick look, and said quietly, “I’ll drive my own car over. I’ll send you

the address.”

‘She’s probably not keen on sharing a car with me,’ Albert thought.

He remembered the uneasy look on Elnora’s face the last time they shared a car.

Elnora glanced at him and said in a calm voice, “Get in.”

Albert ducked into the car and took a seat next to Elnora.

The driver was genuinely surprised to see Albert actually comply.

Even when Reese asked him to ride with her, Albert would always insist on taking his own car instead.

As Albert sat down beside Elnora, a faint smile tugged at his lips.

Elnora leaned back in her seat, casually grabbed a magazine, and said coolly, “Tell the driver the address.”

“Tell the driver the address.”

Albert pulled out his phone, checked the address, and told the driver.

He was as obedient as a well-behaved kid the whole ride.

Now the driver finally got what Reese meant when she said Elnora could handle Albert.

When they arrived at the restaurant, Elnora and Albert walked into the private room together.

Kamron was lounging on the sofa, and when he saw Albert and Elnora walk in together, a grin spread across his face.

His eyes landed on Elnora first, then shifted to Albert.

“I thought you were actually going to stand me up, bro,” Kamron teased.

Albert snorted and looked away from Kaelin.

Meanwhile, Stella walked out of the bathroom in the private room.

Spotting Albert and Elnora, she called out to them.

“Albert, Ms. Finley,” she said.

Her greeting was as usual: casual for Albert, formal for Elnora.

Elnora sat with a cool, detached expression, while Albert felt the urge to leave hit him right away.

His eyes immediately went to Elnora, but before he could say a word, she looked at him and said in a calm voice, “Pull out my chair.”

“Pull out my chair.”

Albert sprang into action without a second thought.

He quickly pulled out the chair for Elnora, meeting her gaze.

Elnora strode over and took her seat.

Stella couldn’t help but take a deep breath as she watched Albert’s behavior.

She remembered that Albert had always despised people who acted superior.

Yet here he was, going out of his way for Elnora.

Her face twisted with a complicated mix of reluctance and frustration.

‘If Albert had ever treated me with the same care he shows Elnora, maybe things between us wouldn’t have come to such a mess,’ Stella thought.
