Seeing him act like this, Elnora’s brows furrowed slightly.
Albert lowered his voice, leaned in close, and whispered in her ear, “Ms. Finley, are you trying to put me in a tough spot?
“The chief editor from the Port City media is here tonight. If you push me out there, are you trying to make me the talk of the tabloids tomorrow for all the wrong reasons?”
Hearing that, Elnora replied, “It’s not like this is your first time making headlines. You should be used to it by
now.”
Albert let out a mocking laugh. “But right now, I only want to make headlines with you.”
Elnora looked up at him, lips pressed together in silence.
To everyone watching, Albert and Elnora whispering together looked extra close, like a couple sharing secrets.
It was as if Albert was sweet-talking his wife, trying to calm her down before she lost her temper.
Stella’s embarrassment on one side and Elnora’s intimate moment with her husband on the other were like night and day, two totally different worlds, though they were only a few steps apart.
All eyes fell on Elnora, each gaze tinged with a hint of envy, while people also sighed inwardly, thinking that Elnora truly had her ways.

She said, “No wonder you don’t want to work with me. Ms. Finley, guess you’re pretty ruthless after all.”
Elnora just looked back calmly, not saying a word.
When people heard Arnetta say that, their eyes turned speculative, as if they sensed something shady or scheming was going on.
Meanwhile, some people cast sympathetic glances at Stella.
They thought Stella was in such a miserable state, probably because Elnora and Arnetta were both targeting
her.
