Elnora didn’t get much sleep last night. Maybe it was just the unfamiliar surroundings. She wasn’t quite settled in yet.
Still, her body clock had her up early as usual, so she got up and started her morning routine for work.
When Elnora Finley arrived at Supernova Entertainment and stepped out of the elevator onto her office floor, Elara walked over and murmured, “Mr. Campbell is in your office right now.”
“He looks pretty upset,” Elara added, making a face to mimic just how sour he seemed.
She made a face, exaggerating how gloomy Albert looked.
Elnora arched her eyebrow and asked, keeping her voice cool, “When did he get here?”
“When did he get here?” Elnora said.
She shook her head. “He got here before any of us.”
Honestly, his expression was so intimidating that no one even dared to ask what time he showed up.
Elnora nodded and said quietly, “I know.”
Then she walked toward her office.
Elara caught up to her, lowering her voice. “Word is, Mr. Campbell’s here because of Stella.
“Ms. Finley, just be careful, okay? Don’t let him push you around.
Elnora gave a cool nod, unfazed by the warning.
Elara shot her an encouraging thumbs-up, then opened the office door for Elnora.
Elnora stepped inside, and sure enough, Albert was already there in her office.
He sat with his back to the door.
From where she stood, Elnora couldn’t make out his expression.
He didn’t even bother to turn around when the door opened. That alone told Elnora he was in a pretty sour mood.
Elnora walked over, settled into her chair behind the desk, and met Albert’s gaze across from her. She was the first to break the silence.
“Morning,” Elnora greeted him.
Albert let out a cold laugh, clearly unimpressed by how calm Elnora was-even now.

“It’s not exactly early, Ms. Finley,” he said, his tone frosty. “You’re late today.”
After hearing him, Elnora glanced down at her watch.
She really was running a few minutes behind.

Looked like Albert was clearly out to pick a fight today, even something as small as her being a bit late was enough for him to jump on her case.
“Go ahead and dock my pay if you want, Mr. Campbell,” Elnora replied.
She took her eyes off him and started flipping through the papers on her desk.
She didn’t say another word, and the office fell silent.
Albert, seeing her ignore him, reached out and snatched the file right out of her hands.
“So, did yesterday’s career planning meeting for the artists go smoothly?” he asked, his tone sharp.
Elnora nodded. “There were a few hiccups, but things went pretty smoothly overall.”
Albert asked, “What hiccups?”
Elnora picked up another file and started flipping through it.
“Wasn’t Stella with you? Her assistant should’ve called her already. Didn’t she ask you to stand up for her?” Elnora asked.
She didn’t even bother to look at Albert as she spoke.
Albert closed the file, staring intently at Elnora, hoping to catch even the slightest hint of emotion on her face.
But there was nothing.
Elnora couldn’t care less why Stella was with him.
She didn’t interrupt to ask for an explanation.
Albert felt uneasy, his face set in a cold, hard expression as he stared at Elnora.
“Aren’t you even going to ask me anything?” he said, his voice tense.
Elnora lifted her eyes, locking gazes with Albert.
She stayed silent for a few seconds, then spoke up, her tone cool and steady.
“I do,” Elnora replied.
Albert felt his anxiety spike, his heart tightening in anticipation.
He was ready to spill everything the moment Elnora asked.

“The operations team and I updated Stella’s career plan, but she’s dead set on going back to the old version. So, Mr. Campbell, what do you think about that?” Elnora asked.
Albert froze for a moment. He thought she’d ask about something else, but she went straight to business.
His expression soured right away.
Elnora arched her brow, unfazed, as she watched Albert’s expression turn even colder.
‘Figures. He really did come here just for Stella,’ she thought to herself.
Albert let out a heavy sigh, his voice icy.
“Since you’ve already made your decision, Ms. Finley, what’s the point of asking me? Sure, I’ll ‘respect’ whatever you want,” he replied.
Elnora gave a slight nod, unfazed by his sarcasm.
“I doubt you’d want to fall out with me over this, Mr. Campbell. Personally, I always try to respect other people’s choices,” Elnora said.
“Stella may be one of our artists, but how she wants to navigate the industry is really up to her. So I agreed to her request to use the old plan, but on one condition: she has to sign a betting agreement with Supernova Entertainment,” Elnora explained.
“Any issues with my decision, Mr. Campbell?” she asked.
Albert shook his head. “Nope, Ms. Finley, you did a great job handling it.”
Elnora lifted her head, meeting Albert’s gaze with clear, direct eyes.
Albert frowned slightly, catching the seriousness in her look.
“Since you have no objections to how I handled things, Mr. Campbell, I expect you to give every artist equal treatment and don’t make the company take on any extra costs or unnecessary risks,” Elnora said.
Albert was speechless.
After finishing her words, Elnora withdrew her gaze, no longer looking at Albert.
Albert sneered, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “Why don’t you just make it crystal clear, Ms. Finley?”
Elnora said coolly, “You’re a smart guy, Mr. Campbell. I think you can read between the lines.”
Albert leaned back in his chair, fixing his eyes on Elnora, his expression unreadable.
“So, you don’t want me to step in for Stella?” he said, his tone cool, almost confrontational.
Elnora replied coolly, “Since it’s a bet, let’s let real ability do the talking.”
Albert let out a cold laugh. “If she can get people to back her, that’s her own talent.

“As long as the money isn’t coming out of the company’s pocket, then we’re fine, aren’t we?”
Elnora frowned.
‘So Albert’s really set on helping Stella, huh?’ Elnora thought.

She was silent for a moment, and when she looked up at Albert again, her eyes were completely devoid of
emotion.
“You’re right, Mr. Campbell,” Elnora said. “As long as the money isn’t coming out of the company’s accounts, then there’s no problem at all.
“Managing to get you to favor her like this really is her skill.”
Albert was left speechless by Elnora’s words, about to argue back, but she simply raised her hand in a clear gesture for him to leave.
She said, “I need to get back to work now, Mr. Campbell. You just returned from your trip, so I’m sure you have plenty on your plate.
“Since this is settled, there’s no need for further discussion. Please don’t disturb me while I’m working.”
Elnora dismissed him with a cold tone.
Albert was stunned for a moment, then stood up, shot Elnora a deep, meaningful look, and walked out without another word.
He walked to the door, his face icy as he closed Elnora’s office door behind him.
He’d wanted to slam it shut and make his presence felt, but at the last moment, he restrained himself and closed it softly instead.
As he closed the door quietly, Albert cast one last look back into the office.
Elnora kept her head down, focused on her work, never once looking his way.
Albert’s face turned stormy.
He was completely at a loss when it came to Elnora. There was just nothing he could do with her.
