Chapter 633 A Change of Heart
Chapter 633 A Change of Heart
On the drive back to Southview Residence, Elnora stayed silent the whole way.
Albert sat next to her, watching her closely for any shift in her mood.
When they reached Southview Residence, Elnora was the first to open the car door and step out.
After getting out, she walked straight into the house.
Albert quickly caught up to her, watching her closely. “Is something bothering you, Ms. Finley? If you’re feeling down, I can…”
Elnora shook her head. “No, I’m fine. I’m just thinking things over.”
Albert caught the serious look on her face, and his own mood grew tense. “What’s on your mind?”
Elnora looked at Albert, her gaze lingering on his face for a long moment before she finally spoke, her voice calm and distant. “You’ll know soon enough.”
“How come I never noticed before that you love keeping me in suspense?” he teased.
Elnora walked past him and headed inside.
Albert followed close behind, and as they climbed the steps, he reached out his hand to her.
Elnora glanced at his open palm, hesitated for a moment, then slipped her hand into his.
When her soft, cool hand settled in his, Albert felt his heart skip a beat. He held her hand tight and guided her upstairs.
Belinda stepped out of her room and saw Elnora and Albert together.
She didn’t say anything, just smiled and made her way to the kitchen to get dinner ready for them tonight.
After Elnora was discharged from the hospital, she spent a week resting at Southview Residence before heading back to work.
Before returning to work, Elnora went alone to the hospital for a follow-up.
She had a full-body examination.
When she received her medical report, she listened intently as the doctor explained the results to her.
After getting the results, Elnora put the report away. Just before she left the doctor’s office, she asked, “Am I healthy enough to try for a baby now?”
The doctor nodded and said, “Of course. If you and your husband are planning to have a baby, you can start trying now.”
Elnora gave a small nod in agreement. “Okay.”
She stepped out of the doctor’s office, quietly closing the door behind her.
As Elnora was taking the elevator down, she happened to bump into Stella in the hospital lobby. Stella looked like she was just out for some air.
Stella was accompanied by one of her classmates.
Elnora remembered seeing him at Kailee’s house that day.
He might be their class president.
When Stella spotted Elnora, she stopped in her tracks.
Harvey noticed, gave Elnora a sharp look, and grabbed Stella’s arm, trying to lead her away.
But Stella’s feet seemed glued to the floor. She just wouldn’t budge.
She stared straight at Elnora, her voice hoarse as she spoke. “Ms. Finley, can we talk?”
Elnora glanced at Stella, her tone cool and distant. “There’s nothing for us to talk about. Wish you a speedy recovery.”

Stella’s eyes grew misty with tears at Elnora’s words.
As Elnora walked past her, Stella’s voice became a pleading whisper. “Ms. Finley, you already have everything -money, status, all of it. But Albert is all I have. Please, let me have him.”
As she spoke, Stella clutched Elnora’s sleeve.
She held on so tightly that Elnora had no choice but to stop.
Seeing Stella so desperate, Harvey secretly wiped away a tear. “Stella, what are you begging her for? You know she’ll never give Albert up. Why even try…”
Before Harvey could finish, Elnora softly said, “Okay.”
His words stuck in his throat, and he stared at Elnora in shock.
Stella released Elnora’s sleeve after hearing her reply.
Elnora walked away without stopping.
Harvey turned to watch Elnora walk away, his brow furrowing. He felt her answer was so straightforward that it almost seemed like she was just deceiving Stella.
“Stella…” Harvey called out softly.
Stella’s lips curved into a faint smile as she glanced sideways at Harvey.
“Let’s head back,” she said.
Harvey could see, clear as day, that Stella really believed what Elnora had said.
He opened his mouth, wanting to say something.
But Stella cut in with a smile. “If Ms. Finley promises something, she always makes it happen. I believe in her.” Harvey was left speechless. Stella was just fooling herself, but he couldn’t bring himself to shatter her hope. After leaving the hospital, Elnora didn’t go home right away. Instead, she headed straight to a restaurant. A long-time business partner of the Finley Group was visiting Port City with his wife for a vacation. Before coming to Port City, his wife had messaged Elnora, and Elnora had promised to take them out for a meal.
When Elnora got to the restaurant, she handed the red wine she’d brought to the waiter and asked him to decant it. Then she settled in and waited quietly.
About ten minutes later, Nathan Marshall and his wife, Gillian, walked in from outside the private room.
Elnora immediately stood up to greet them.
Gillian Marshall walked right up to Elnora, beaming, and pulled her into a big, heartfelt hug.
“Ever since you came to Port City, it’s been almost a year since we last saw each other,” Gillian said.
Gillian and Elnora had been classmates in middle school, and after Gillian married Nathan, the two became close again.
Even though Elnora worked with Nathan, her friendship with Gillian was even stronger.
Gillian was really into wine.
So today, Elnora had given Albert a heads-up and brought over one of his favorite aged reds from his wine
rack.
Elnora warmly invited Gillian and Nathan to sit down.
Gillian took Elnora’s hand, noticed she’d come alone, and asked, “Where’s Albert? Didn’t he come with you?”
Elnora replied offhandedly, “He’s been swamped with work lately.”
Gillian nodded in understanding.
The waiter brought out the dishes first, then served the wine Elnora brought, pouring a glass for each of them.

As the wine was being poured, Gillian grinned at Elnora, raising an eyebrow.
“Just from the aroma, I can tell this is a really good wine. You really spoiled us, bringing out something this nice for the two of us,” she laughed.
Elnora replied, “A good wine deserves to be enjoyed by those who know its worth.”
With that, she raised her glass and gently clinked it with Gillian and Nathan’s.
Gillian smiled warmly, her eyes crinkling with delight as she took a small sip of the red wine, then continued chatting away with Elnora.
Since it had been so long since Elnora had seen her longtime friends from Vrufield, she couldn’t help but indulge in a few extra drinks tonight.
Seeing that Gillian still wasn’t ready to call it a night, Elnora asked the waiter to open another bottle-the one she’d brought and stored at the restaurant earlier.
By the end of the meal, Gillian had pretty much had her fill.
She was the biggest drinker of the three, a real wine lover.
Elnora kept her company and had another glass with her.
After seeing Nathan and Gillian off, Elnora was about to call her driver. But just as she was about to hit dial, she paused, changed her mind, and called Albert instead.
