Chapter 634 Fireworks Go Off
Chapter 634 Fireworks Go Off
Albert had just gotten back to Southview Residence from the office when his phone rang.
He was about to open the door when his phone started ringing.
Albert pulled out his phone and saw it was Elnora calling.
He raised an eyebrow, swiped to answer, and as soon as he put the phone to his ear, he heard Elnora’s cool voice.
“Come pick me up,” Elnora said.
She rattled off the address like it was nothing, not even pausing for Albert to protest before she ended the call.
Albert raised an eyebrow as he glanced at his phone, a faint smile playing at his lips.
It was the first time since they got married half a year ago that Elnora had ever called him to pick her up.
He had absolutely no reason to say no. He turned around, went straight to the garage, hopped in his car, and headed for the restaurant Elnora mentioned.
Not long after Elnora called Albert, the driver pulled up in front of her and stopped.
He got out, opened the door, and was about to invite Elnora in when she simply waved her hand, her voice calm and composed as she spoke. “You can head back now.”
The driver looked a bit surprised, but quickly composed himself and asked, “Is there anything else I can do for you, Ms. Finley?”
Elnora glanced at the time and replied, “Albert will be here to pick me up soon.”
A flicker of surprise crossed the driver’s face, but he nodded and drove away.
Ever since Elnora’s car accident, their relationship had warmed up a lot.
After all, Albert had stayed at the hospital day and night, taking care of her and never leaving her side. Turned out, even the most cold-hearted woman couldn’t help but be touched by the way Albert looked after her.
Elnora stood outside the restaurant for about ten minutes before Albert’s car pulled up in front of her.
Albert was just about to get out and open the door for her, but Elnora beat him to it. She reached out, opened the passenger door, and slid right in.
Albert quickly pulled his foot back, glancing over at Elnora with a flicker of something unreadable in his eyes.
Once Elnora got in the car, she reached for the seatbelt.
She fumbled around for a moment, but couldn’t seem to find it.
Albert noticed her cheeks were slightly flushed, and her gaze was a little hazy. He leaned over and buckled the seatbelt for her.
“Been drinking?” Albert asked.
Elnora nodded. “Just a bit.”
Albert raised an eyebrow, noticing her flushed cheeks and hazy eyes. She was clearly a bit tipsy.
“I’m guessing it was more than just a little,” he said.
Elnora gestured with her fingers, showing a number.
“Looks like six,” she said.
Albert raised an eyebrow. “That’s impressive.”
Elnora shot him a sideways look. “It’s alright.”
As she spoke, her eyes were smiling, a warmth in her gaze that was so different from her usual clear-headed look.
Albert felt a flutter in his chest. He tilted her chin up with his hand and asked, “Which one did you have?”

Elnora cocked her head, thinking for a moment.
“Didn’t I text you already?” she said, sounding a bit playful.
Albert smiled at her.
“You only said you were bringing two bottles, but never mentioned what kind,” he replied.
As he spoke, he leaned in a little closer to Elnora.
Albert thought to himself, ‘Tonight, with a few drinks in her, Elnora feels so much more open.’
Elnora leaned back, putting a bit of distance between them, but flashed him a warm smile.
“Drive me home, Albert,” she said.
When Elnora said “home,” her voice lingered, and Albert felt as if something soft, like a feather, gently brushed
across his heart.
Albert’s voice was a little husky as he replied, “Alright.”
He started the car and headed back to Southview Residence.
The driver pulled over and waited until Albert and Elnora had left, then finally started the car and drove off.
After all, Reese had instructed him to always look out for Elnora’s safety.
Once he saw Elnora leave with Albert, he finally felt at ease.

Back at Southview Residence, Albert pulled the car into the garage.
Once he parked, he turned to look at Elnora.
From the moment they left the restaurant, Elnora kept her eyes glued to Albert.
She stared at him the whole ride, silent the entire time.
The way she looked at him made Albert’s heart itch, leaving him restless and a little flustered.
“We’re home,” Albert said.
“How long are you going to keep staring at me, honey?” he teased.
Ever since Albert tested the waters by calling Elnora “honey” at the hospital and she didn’t seem to mind, it just rolled off his tongue after that.
Noticing Elnora didn’t respond, Albert opened his door, got out, and walked around to the passenger side to open her door.
He bent down, reached in, and unbuckled Elnora’s seatbelt for her.
Albert was just starting to feel like teasing Elnora, but before he could say a word, she reached up and wrapped her arms around his neck.
She leaned in close, pressing herself against him, and Albert instinctively tensed up.
“My legs feel weak. Carry me upstairs,” Elnora whispered.
As she spoke, her warm breath brushed softly against Albert’s ear.
Albert’s heart raced.
The next moment, he reached out and pulled her close by the waist.
Elnora nuzzled against him.
Albert scooped her up effortlessly and carried her inside.
As he carried her, Albert felt like everything around him was hushed and still.
In that moment, all his senses were drawn to Elnora. She was the center of his world.
Belinda heard the car pull up and was about to go greet them, but when she saw Albert carrying Elnora in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, she quickly slipped back to her room, giving the couple all the time and

space they needed.
Albert carried Elnora upstairs and gently laid her down on the bed, but after that, he didn’t go any further.
Elnora sat on the bed, her brows slightly furrowed. With all the rumors about Albert being such a playboy, she figured he’d take the lead without missing a beat when things got to this point.
But instead, he just stood there and did nothing, which actually left Elnora a little stunned.
“Get some rest. If you feel uncomfortable, don’t hesitate to call me,” Albert said gently.
He released Elnora and was about to walk away.
Elnora reached out and grabbed Albert’s hand.
Albert stopped in his tracks, turned around, and looked at her.
“What’s wrong?” he asked.
Albert hadn’t even let his mind wander to anything more intimate yet.
Elnora looked up at him, her cheeks glowing red. Maybe it was the drinks, or maybe it was something else entirely.
“Want a taste?” Elnora teased.
Her lips parted just a little, her breath soft and carrying a hint of sweetness.
Seeing the flush on her cheeks, Albert felt his breath hitch for a moment.
“What?” Albert asked, his voice trembling.
His voice quivered with emotion.
Elnora looked up at him, her voice gentle and full of warmth.
“Didn’t you want a taste of what I drank tonight?” she teased.
With that, she leaned in, slipped her arms around Albert’s neck, and offered him her lips in a soft, inviting kiss.
Albert’s breath hitched, and for a split second, it was like fireworks went off in his head.
