Chapter 4
In the blink of an eye, the day arrived for Ryan and me to register our marriage at the marriage bureau.
Coincidentally, it was also Sophie’s birthday.
Over the past week, thanks to the Williams family’s control over the media narrative, the scandal from the live show had almost completely died down.
After all, who would seriously believe the Williams heiress would actually marry a delivery guy?
Even my parents and brother thought what I said on the show was just a fit of pique.
But they didn’t know.
I was utterly disillusioned and disappointed with this family and had long wanted to leave.
That morning, I was just about to go downstairs for breakfast.
As reached the staircase, I heard David shoutin

impatiently.
“Hurry up! When she wakes up and finds out we’re taking Sophie to Miami for her birthday, she’ll definitely make a scene and want to come along.”
My mother sounded hesitant. “Are we really leaving Emily home alone? Won’t she be upset?”
“For some reason, I have a bad feeling about this…”
My father urged while packing, “Don’t overthink it. I finally managed to get time off.”
“The butler and servants are here to look after her. It’s not like she’ll starve.”
Sophie piped up, pretending to be considerate, “Maybe… we should take Sister with us?”
David snorted lightly. “Do you want to have a proper birthday or not?”
My mother sighed softly. “Ah, when we get back, we’ll buy her some extra gifts and cheer her up properly.”

Half an hour later, the downstairs fell completely silent.
I opened my door and looked out at the sky, clear and blue as if washed clean.
What beautiful weather.
I called for the butler waiting nearby.
“Uncle Mike, I have some good news for you. I’m getting married today.”
But I never, ever expected that Ryan had arranged a fleet of Rolls-Royces to pick me up.
A line of sleek, black Phantom BB editions was parked neatly in front of the villa, drawing stares from many neighbors.
Even more surprising, he had also booked the city’s largest advertising screen, looping our marriage
announcement.
Sitting in the car, watching this spectacle on par with a business alliance marriage, I felt something was off.

Where did a delivery guy get this kind of money?
But remembering his innate composure from the coffee shop, my intuition told me his identity was anything but simple.
Meanwhile, the Williams family’s private jet had just landed in Miami when it encountered a severe hurricane,
the worst in a decade.
Looking at the sudden storm and torrential rain outside the window, Sophie frowned.
Her grand birthday party was likely ruined.
But they couldn’t apply for a return flight that same day, so they had to schedule one for three days later.
And so, the whole family ended up stuck in a hotel for three full days.
Three days later, when the Williams family returned home, they immediately sensed something was wrong.
The butler and servants stood lined up in the entryway, not daring to make a sound.

My mother was the first to react, frowning as she asked the butler, “Where’s Emily?”
The servants exchanged glances. Finally, the butler stepped forward, stammering, “The young lady… she got married and moved out… We truly couldn’t stop her…”
“What!”
My parents and brother exclaimed in unison, their faces filled with shock.
My father grabbed the butler’s arm, demanding sternly, “Who did she marry?”
“It’s… it’s that delivery guy who was pushed on stage during the show…”
“The day they registered at the marriage bureau, not only was there a Rolls-Royce fleet, but he also booked all the city’s advertising screens. The media followed the whole process. Now, it’s spread throughout the entire upper-class circle…”
