Chapter 205Â
Now, even if my actions weren’t achieving what I really hoped for-divorce-at least other people were getting something out of itÂ
Still, it only made me resolve to be even worse as a Luna. The last thing I wanted was for Dominic to start agreeing with these women and try to use it as an excuse to keep me around. And if Vivian found out that people were starting to like me, she’d just double down on her efforts to repeat what she’d done in my pastÂ
life.Â
By the end of the afternoon, I had utterly exhausted myself in my efforts to be horrible. Aside from my visit to the clinic, everything else I had done had been in the sole effort of being as bad as possible.Â
I broke a few expensive swords “by accident” while I was inspecting them in the armory. I “forgot” people’s names. I deliberately skipped over parts of the to-do list, and I generally made myself as unlikeable as I could.Â
I expected Dominic to come home, furious, having heard about my bad attitude all day. But to my horror, his parents arrived with him.Â
“Ellie. There you are,” Dominic said. “We’re having dinner with my parents tonight.”Â
I tried to protest, but before I could, Dominic’s mother rushed over and hugged me. I stiffened. Not a single part of me had forgotten the way she used to treat me, before she thought I was worth something.Â
“It’s wonderful to see you, daughter,” she said. She pulled back just enough to look at me. “Oh, but you look so tired. You must have been working hard all day. Those dark circles under your eyes are incredible!”Â
“Something like that.” I smiled sweetly, refusing to rise to the bait. “I just need to change.”Â
“Take your time,” Dominic said.Â
I made my way upstairs, where I nearly reached for a nice dinner dress out of instinct. But in the end, I opted for a baggy sweatshirt and sweatpants instead. No shoes, just socks. I pulled my hair into a messy bun, then skipped down the stairs.Â
Dominic and his parents were sitting at the table when I arrived. They all looked at me in obvious surprise.Â

“You look comfortable,” his father said with a cough.Â
“Comfort is key.” I smirked at Dominic. “Now that I got him locked down, what’s the point in dressing up? Right, sweetheart?”Â
Dominic just grunted something in reply. With that, I took a seat and began my usual routine. Chew loudly. Spill my wine. Scrape my cutlery. Everything I could think of to be as absolutely revolting as I could.Â
Halfway through, Dominic’s mother leaned over, touching my hand. “Are you alright?” she asked.Â
“Yes, I’m fine. Why-”Â
“Something is off here.” She leaned closer. “Have you missed your bleeding?”Â
I froze. She thought I was pregnant. With Dominic’s child. Like early pregnancy hormones could be a reason for my moodswings.Â

I laughed out loud before I could stop myself, tnaking her pull her head back in surprise.Â
“I’m not pregnant,” I blurted out. “Dominic and I haven’t even done that yet.”Â
His parents went very still. Dominic, who had been cutting into his game fren on the other side of the table, suddenly stopped.Â
His mother glared at me. Then at him. “You mean to say that you haven’t even consummated your marriage?” she squeaked.Â
Dominic set down his fork and knife. “Mother-”Â
“Nope. We haven’t,” I cut him off, popping a cherry tomato into my mouth. A few droplets of the red liquid flew out as I spoke, landing on her hand. “In fact, we don’t even share a bedroom.”Â
