With that thought, Ruth grew even more eager to sell her point.

“Mr. Ford, you’re a public figure. Your face is everything. You can’t just pick any doctor,” she said. “This specialist here is our top consultant. He’s an authority on all kinds of injuries…”
Ruth rambled on until her mouth was dry.
Just when she thought she had convinced Leo, he smiled faintly.
“Please send Mia in,” he said, his smile cold.
Ruth froze.
All that talking, for nothing.
When Mia was called into the room, Ruth looked utterly defeated.
She grabbed Mia’s arm and whispered sharply, “This man is worth hundreds of millions. His family owns a 100-billion-dollar fortune. Half the industry is on his side. You give him a quick check, then I’ll have someone take over. Understand?
“You can’t afford to mess up his face. Stick to my plan.”
Mia said nothing. She stared at the back of Leo’s head and thought to herself. Billions?
Then it hit her.
“Leo?” she asked, looking at the charming man in front of her. “What are you doing here?”
Leo grinned, lazy and confident. He rested his chin in his hand and stared right at her. “Getting treatment.”
Mia paused. “Oh.”
She glanced at his injury.
It looked like he’d hit something sharp, maybe stone. The cut was long, stretching from his brow bone to the corner of his eye. She could even see faint white bone. It looked terrifying.
Yet Leo acted completely casual, as if it didn’t bother him at all.
“I can’t treat you,” Mia said. From the moment he’d called for her by name, she knew he was just here to cause trouble.

“This wound needs emergency care.” She looked away and pointed to her ID tag. “Besides, I’m only a junior physician. I don’t take patients.”
“Fine,” Leo smiled. Mia’s eyebrow twitched.
He suddenly clutched his chest, dropped his head onto his arm, and let out a pained cry.
The reporters outside went wild like wolves catching a scent.
They surged forward, and camera flashes exploded nonstop.
Out of everyone’s sight, Leo grinned and mouthed at her, “Try saying no.”
Mia tilted her head and gave him a warning look: “Don’t be dramatic.”
Leo narrowed his eyes, looking innocent. The next second, he frowned convincingly, his face pale. His hand tightened hard over his chest.
He was about to fake a cry of pain when Mia stepped forward and smiled sweetly. “Mr. Ford, I’m only a junior physician… but I can handle this small injury.”
Leo looked up at her, still smiling innocently. “Changed your mind?”
Mia gritted her teeth. “Yes.”
Outside the room, Ruth rushed over with a gray-haired senior doctor. When she heard Mia’s words, her eyes shot daggers.
If looks could kill, Mia would have been torn to pieces.
“Alright, everyone, back!” Willis suddenly stepped in, serious and efficient. He cleared the crowd and closed the door with a firm click.
Once they were alone, the “seriously injured” man lifted his head. His charming eyes were fixed intensely on Mia.
Mia took the medical kit and began treating his wound.
“Wow. Years later and you’re even more stubborn,” Leo drawled. He leaned back lazily, no trace of pain left. “Acting too cool to recognize me now?”
Mia finished cleaning the cut on his forehead and sat across from him. “Hand.”
She took his pulse. The room went quiet.
“Other hand.”

Leo cooperated.
“Any pain anywhere else?” Mia asked.
Leo crossed his arms and smirked. “Dr. Cole, I hurt all over. Better check carefully.”
Mia paused, her pen hovering over the prescription. She looked up at him seriously.

He had striking silver hair and hypnotic eyes. When he focused on someone, his gaze was sharp and intense. His lips looked cold and distant.
But when he smiled, he lit up the whole room, bright and impossible to ignore.
A walking contradiction of a man.
Mia looked away and spoke calmly, “If you’re in serious pain with no clear injury, I suggest you get a full-body CT scan at the hospital.”
Leo acted stubborn. “But you just took my pulse. Couldn’t you tell?”
“Or is it…” He leaned in slightly. “You’re just scared of my face’s value, too scared to treat me?”
