When he was young, Sean used to listen to her. Now, he argued against everything she said.
It was true: once a son grows up, his mother can’t control him.
The mention of a blind date set Sean on edge. His thoughts drifted to Tracy, making him even more irritable.
“Mom, stop meddling. If you want someone to go on a blind date, you go yourself. I’m not going.”
In the Xander Corp conference room, the executives were in a tense meeting. A project had run into serious trouble.
They had been summoned early that morning to figure out a solution.
Jared rubbed his aching temples and presented the plan he had spent all night developing.
He then looked at the executives. “Any objections to this solution?”
The executives shook their heads. Even if they had objections, they wouldn’t dare voice them. Ultimately, Jared held all the decision-making power.
It seemed Yvonne’s suggestion had actually worked. It solved the problem that had plagued Jared for so long.
He would have to reward her properly when he got back.
Suddenly, an aged voice cut through from the doorway. “I object to this decision.”
Everyone turned to the entrance. Madam Sarah was being pushed in, seated in her wheelchair.
Jared shot up in surprise. He hurried over to Madam Sarah and knelt. “Grandma, why are you here?”
Madam Sarah said nothing. She slapped Jared clean across the face. Before he could even react, she slapped him again, on the other cheek.
She scolded him coldly, “If I hadn’t come, this company would have been completely destroyed by you two.”
“Grandma, what are you doing? Everyone is watching! Where am I supposed to put my face?”

She had slapped him in front of all his subordinates. Did he have no pride? How was he supposed to command any respect from them after this?
The executives quickly averted their gaze, terrified of getting caught in the crossfire of a family dispute.
“You’re the one I’m hitting, you unfilial grandson.” Madam Sarah’s gaze swept over the others in the room before she announced, “I have come here today in my capacity as a shareholder to resolve the recent matter of suppressing Vector.”
“Jared, you abused your power. You are trying to hound your own biological sister to death. Are you even human? If you can’t handle this properly, I will handle it myself. And you will keep any objections you have to yourself. I will not stand by and watch the empire the Old Master and I built be destroyed by your unfilial hands.”
When she first heard the news, she had nearly fainted from rage. How dare they?
Jared stood up, trying to placate her. “Grandma, calm down. Did Tracy run to you and tell you something again? You can’t let your bias for her blind you to the facts! Do you have any idea how she has bullied us, how she’s bullied Yvonne? Suppressing her now is for her own good! Think about it. She already dares to fight us openly. In the future, she’ll be treating us like enemies!”
Jared paused, then added, “Worse, she just caused that scandal by cheating on her exam. She is ruining her own future! Grandma, if we don’t discipline her, she’ll be completely out of control. You have no idea how arrogant she is to us, how she looks down on all of us. A person like her is bound to cause a major disaster. If we just let her run wild, she will be completely finished.”
The room erupted in whispers. Tracy was Jared’s biological sister? The same Tracy from the news a few days ago?
Jared ignored his own sister, choosing instead to dote on the stepsister, protecting her as if she were the apple of his eye.
What a shocking revelation.
Madam Sarah grabbed a coffee cup from the desk and hurled it at Jared. “I am old, not dead! You believe every single thing Yvonne says? Is that how a President should act? Jared, I’m telling you, as long as I am breathing, you will not bully Tracy like this. I will protect her even if it costs me this old life of mine. I am now ordering you, as a shareholder, to immediately lift the suppression against Vector.”
For the third exam, Tracy arrived just moments before it began to avoid any trouble.
