Yvonne stood up. “Professor,” she said to the proctor, “Tracy only got her score by cheating. I demand that she be removed from the exam and investigated.”
She truly hadn’t expected Tracy to last until the third round. With Tracy’s abilities, she should have been eliminated in the first.
Making it this far clearly meant she’d used the same old trick: copying someone else’s answers.
The proctor shot Yvonne a cold look. “Are you questioning the university’s decision, or are you questioning the fairness of this exam?”
As a proctor, he knew perfectly well that in the combined scores for the first two rounds, Tracy was the only one with a perfect score.
A student with a perfect score copying from someone with a lower score? If word of that got out, it would be a laughingstock.
“Professor, I suspect Tracy also cheated during the second round.” Yvonne met the proctor’s gaze without flinching. “Right now, Tracy should be under investigation, not sitting in an exam hall.”
Her words stirred up the other candidates. A commotion grew as they began to question the exam’s integrity.
The proctor’s icy gaze swept across them. He pointed to the door. “If any of you don’t want to take this exam, you are free to leave right now. We do not welcome candidates who sow discord and stir up trouble.”
A hush fell over the room. No one dared to make another sound. Even Yvonne sat back down.
She was furious. She had heard that Grandma went to the company today and caused a huge
scene.
Under pressure, Jared had already caved and agreed to lift the suppression against Vector.
This meant they had to let Tracy go. And yet here she was, calmly sitting for the third exam.
They had been on the verge of ruining Tracy’s reputation, and at the most critical moment, this happened. It was infuriating!

Tracy smiled at Yvonne. “You must be very disappointed that your scheme to get me disqualified failed.”
The results from the expedited DNA test she’d ordered yesterday were in. Just as she had expected, Yvonne was not Trevor’s biological daughter.
She had already asked Sam to mail it anonymously. The recipient was listed as Yvonne. It would likely arrive at the Xander villa by the afternoon.
If it hadn’t been for Grandma’s warning, she would have sent the report directly to Trevor. But she’d had a change of heart.
She was certain that the moment Yvonne saw this ‘gift, her first instinct would be to destroy it.
Yvonne glared at Tracy. “Your cheating has already been confirmed. Mr. Waylon will see to this. Let’s see how you talk your way out of it then.”
After the exam, Tracy was walking out of the hall when someone blocked her path. She turned her head. It was Chase.
He was holding a massive bouquet of flowers. She wasn’t foolish enough to think they were for her.
They were, almost certainly, for Yvonne.
They were all convinced Yvonne would take first place, so they gave her a reward after every
test.
The last two times, they had flaunted it in her face. This time, they were deliberately giving Yvonne flowers right in front of her, clearly intending to humiliate her publicly.
Unfortunately for them, she no longer held out any hope for the Xander family. Whatever they did was meaningless to her.
Chase grabbed Tracy’s arm and began dragging her toward the proctor’s office. Tracy, you’re coming with me to see Mr. Waylon. You did something wrong, and you have to admit it. We can’t let you keep making these mistakes.
