Chapter 220 The Center of Attention
“I heard about that, too. It’s still a hot topic online, the buzz isn’t dying down at all. I also heard the Xander family tried to pay to have it taken down, but the other party isn’t short on money and refused.”
“Exactly. That daughter of yours is too much. She demanded an investigation multiple times, all to destroy that poor girl.”
“And that Chase is no better, pretending to be the girl’s brother. It made me so angry just watching it.”
“That girl is so pitiful. If she didn’t have real talent, her reputation would have been ruined by them. The Xander family’s character is a serious problem.”
Hearing the barbed words, Yvonne gripped the hem of her skirt, trying desperately to stay calm.
Faye’s face paled for a moment before she forced a smile. “You can’t believe everything you see online. Just treat it as entertainment. Don’t take it seriously.”
Because of the gossip, Yvonne was in a foul mood. It only improved slightly when she saw Chandler arrive.
What does it matter if Tracy is brilliant? She still can’t keep her husband’s heart. Renee is still in prison. Chandler must have completely given up on Tracy by now! They’ll be divorced sooner or later.
So what if Tracy has dirt on me? Neither the Xanders nor Chandler will believe her. As for everyone else, who cares what they believe? I don’t.
With that, Yvonne lifted her skirt and walked over, naturally linking her arm with Chandler’s. “Chandler, you’re here. The banquet is about to start. Let’s go over.”
Chandler nodded. The two walked toward Trevor, earning compliments from everyone they passed.
As the saying goes, the more a mother-in-law sees her son-in-law, the more she likes him. Faye looked at Chandler, pleased with him in every respect.
The banquet soon began. Trevor kept glancing at the entrance. When he didn’t see Tracy, a flash of disappointment crossed his face. I guess Tracy isn’t coming.
Madam Sarah also kept looking toward the door. It’s good Tracy isn’t here. This family definitely has bad intentions for asking her to come.
The elderly woman was frail and couldn’t last long. She had her maid wheel her back to rest.

The banquet was nearly halfway over when Tracy finally arrived.
Chandler had just received an urgent call from his company. He left immediately, without even having any cake.
He brushed past Tracy at the entrance, still on the phone. He sensed a familiar figure pass by, but before he could turn, Yvonne pulled him toward the exit.
“Chandler, you go to the office first. I’ll come and help you with overtime after the party ends.”
She gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. Chandler rubbed her head fondly. “Okay. You understand me best.”
He thought he had just seen Tracy, but then dismissed the idea. How could Tracy possibly be at a place like this? I must have been mistaken.
The moment Tracy appeared, she became the center of attention. She wore a smokey-purple gown that perfectly accentuated her curves.
After her rise to fame at Cloud University, many people now recognized her. Technically, Tracy and the Xander family were on opposing sides. So why was she here?
Once they identified her, guests began to crowd around, all wanting to get close to Tracy. They hoped to either partner with Vector or, better yet, poach her for their own companies.
“Ms. Xander, your company is about to sign with the Medical AI Department! I was wondering if there was any chance our companies could collaborate?”
“Our company can offer a rate two points below market price. We hope you can put in a good word for us with Mr. Zach. We’re happy to pay a finder’s fee, of course.”
“Ms. Xander, our company has international partnerships and a bright future. We hope you’ll consider joining us. Salary is negotiable.”
“We have excellent prospects in the tech sector. If you join us, I can offer you shares, and you’ll get dividends immediately.”
After her victory, Tracy had instantly become the hottest commodity in the industry. She had already received countless offers, all of which she had politely declined. This, however, was the first time she had been approached so brazenly with terms. She didn’t refuse them outright, but instead listened to them speak.
Yvonne watched Tracy, who was now the center of everyone’s orbit. Her hand, hidden in the folds of her skirt, tightened.
That kind of attention used to be hers. But after the Cloud University incident, she had become
