She was doing better and better without him, while his own life was a mess. The passion between him and Yvonne was gone, and his home felt empty. There was no longer a light left on for him. When his stomach hurt, there was no one to make him soothing food. That small figure who would stay up and take care of him, no matter how late… she was never coming back.
It was only when he was tossing and turning late at night, his stomach aching, unable to find his medicine, that he remembered how important Tracy had been.
But that didn’t matter anymore. As long as Yvonne could bring him benefits, nothing else mattered. At least, that’s what he told himself.
