Chapter 327 The Leeches
“You pathetic wastes of space. Not a single one of you is any good, from the old lady down to the brat. You spend your lives living off your big brother, taking his money to go out and enjoy yourselves, and now you have the nerve to try and dump your gambling debts on him too? Are you even human? You’re the worst kind of leeches I’ve ever seen. You’re an embarrassment to men everywhere.”
The man with the scar could see exactly what was happening. Robert was making every excuse in the book because he had no intention of paying. These people relied on Ethan’s blood to survive, yet they still looked down on him. They had no class.
Rosaline clutched her chest, letting out a series of dramatic gasps. “Oh… my heart. My old ailment is acting up. I need to go upstairs and lie down. Someone call a doctor!”
She was desperate for any excuse to get Robert out of the room so the others would be forced to deal with the mess.
The scarred man gave a sharp flick of his wrist, and his men stepped forward to seize Robert. He smiled coldly at Rosaline. “You can leave, but he stays. This isn’t settled yet, and we haven’t agreed on how the money is getting paid. As the one who actually owes the debt, he’s staying right here. I’ve been patient enough watching your little performance. Don’t push me.”
Seeing her precious son grabbed, Rosaline lunged forward to pull him away, but the scarred man blocked her path.
“How dare you touch my son!” she shrieked. “Tell your men to let him go this instant or I’m calling the police!”
Robert had been her pampered darling since the day he was born. He had never suffered a moment of discomfort in his life, and seeing him handled like this cut her to the core. But with the way blocked, she could only watch helplessly, her heart aching with rage.
“Go ahead, call them!” The scarred man shrugged with total indifference. “If you want your youngest son on the front page of the news tomorrow, be my guest. We can let the public decide who’s in the right. Lets see how people react when they find out Robert is a degenerate gambler who refuses to pay his debts. Once the scandal breaks, the Sand family won’t have a shred of dignity left. We’ll see who loses more lace then.”
He had a signed promissory note that was perfectly legal. Even if they went to court, he wasnt ahad No one had ever successfully threatened him, and certainly not a group of leeches like this
The threat drained the strength from Rosaline’s legs. She collapsed to the floor and looked powered her eyes full of desperation. “Simon… I know the company just paid out dividends. You mus money put away. Can’t you take it out to help your brother? I promise we’ll pay you back to please!”

He knew exactly what paying him back meant. Every time Robert borrowed money, it vanished into a black hole. He had long since seen through their act and stayed as far away as possible. These two were bottomless pits who would suck anyone dry without a second thought. They were greedy, wasteful, and never satisfied.
He and Terrance had already agreed on a strategy: if they were asked for money, the answer was always no. They’d claim they spent it on things. After all, if the money was gone, what could anyone do about it?
Rosaline’s eyes flashed with resentment at Simon’s refusal. She turned her gaze to Terrance. “Terrance. I know you haven’t bought anything expensive lately. Can you…”
Before she could finish. Terrance waved his hands and put on a miserable face. “Mom. I don’t make nearly as much as Ethan or Simon. Even Robert’s dividends are higher than mine! How could I possibly have that kind of cash? You could tie me up and beat me, and I still wouldn’t be able to give it to you!”
He wasn’t lying. Among the four brothers, his share was the smallest. He and Robert were supposed to have equal amounts, but Rosaline had given her own shares to her favorite youngest son. Terrance had always been bitter about it, but there was nothing he could do. It was common knowledge in the family that the old lady played favorites.
Rosaline let out a howl of fury. “Every time I ask you for help, you come up with excuses! This is your brother’s life on the line! Are you really going to sit there and watch him die? How did I raise such ungrateful wolves? If anything happens to your brother, I don’t want to live anymore!”
She wailed and sobbed, sprawling herself out on the floor and refusing to let anyone help her up.
