“I’m done with you for now. You may leave.”
After equipping the cargo pod, Victor casually dismissed Terrence.
“Really? You’re letting me go?” Terrence asked, not quite believing his ears. He didn’t think Victor would let him go so easily.
If he were in Victor’s position, wouldn’t the most reasonable course of action be to kill and loot him?
“Why? Do you want to stay here a bit longer? Do you have any other good stuff?”
“No, no, I just… About that Source Crystal…”
“Once I’m done here, I’ll go find you.”
Victor’s answer instantly made Terrence’s spirits drop.
Find me? For what?
Victor’s very presence made his legs go weak.
Perhaps he could just send someone to deliver the Source Crystal once he had found it?
Could they just part ways here and not see each other anymore?
Unfortunately, Terrence didn’t dare voice those thoughts. All he could do was say, “Sure, bro, I’ll go retrieve that Source Crystal for you right away.”
“Don’t even think of running away. Riverside is relatively safe right now, so as long as you don’t do anything reckless, you won’t run into trouble. But if you leave the city, you might not see the light of day again.”
Victor offered Terrence a warning.
To be honest, since a grudge had formed between them, killing Terrence would be the safest option.
However, Victor dismissed that idea.
Terrence must have insane luck to become what he did in Victor’s previous life. In fact, a significant portion of Victor’s current good fortune had come from him.
Therefore, keeping Terrence alive was worth more than eliminating him.
If Victor visited him every few days, there should always be surprises waiting.
“Don’t worry, bro, I won’t run. I promise I won’t.” Terrence repeatedly waved his hands in denial.
“Go on, then.” Victor pointed in the direction of the zoo’s exit.
“Okay, bro.”
Terrence left respectfully. The moment he was out of Victor’s sight, he sprinted home at full speed.
Victor watched him disappear before he started using ordinary Source Crystals to replenish himself.
His power needed replenishing, and the damage from the electromagnetic pulse attack required healing too.
The energy from ordinary Source Crystals was sufficient for that.

While his mecha was consuming the energy, Victor took out a pile of loot stored in the mecha’s internal space. They were the intermediate Source Crystals from the mechanical monkeys and the advanced Source Crystals from the mechanical crocodiles and deer. They amounted to over a hundred crystals.
“Open the Source Crystals.”
Victor began opening them one by one, starting with the intermediate Source Crystals.
As expected, none of the intermediate Source Crystals from the mechanical monkeys yielded any equipment. They were all converted into mecha experience points.
There were dozens of intermediate Source Crystals, and they raised the mecha’s level to Level 13.
Though the level increase was minimal, the boost to combat power pleased Victor. After Level 10, each level up provided 4 points of combat power.
“Since the intermediate ones didn’t yield any equipment, surely the advanced crystals, with two of them from mutants, will contain something good, right?”
Victor eagerly started opening the advanced Source Crystals.
The advanced Source Crystals gave a lot of mecha experience points.
But it wasn’t until the 17th crystal that he finally got something.
“Ding! Acquired fine Cylindrical Cargo Pod.”
“Another cargo pod?” Victor felt displeased.
He already had an epic cargo pod. He had no use for a fine cargo pod.
“I’ll keep it for now.”
Victor kept the Cylindrical Cargo Pod in his storage space.
The internal space of the epic cargo pod was vast. The cargo pod was cylindrical in shape and was half a meter in length, thirty centimeters in width, and fifty centimeters in height.
Yet within that small cargo pod was over ten cubic meters of space.
That was ample room to store many items.
Why would he keep a cargo pod he couldn’t use? Because he could trade it. Even if he couldn’t trade it for items, he could convert it into Source Crystals,
